Great short film. Excellent work from two bright film students. This short film made its debut in an annual film contest at the University of Nevada, Las Vegas called "Spring Flicks." It far exceeded the competing films in terms of quality and professionalism. Carranza and Portillo were on a tight schedule, low budget, and very limited resources. One can only imagine how good the type of work that these two can produce with greater resources.
There are excellent uses of color in this film. There are both, scenes in black and white, and scenes in color. Many other short films before this would try to get too "artsy-fartsy" and use black and white scenes in the wrong fashion, and thus, boring the audience to death. Carranza and Portillo have a unique gift that even the most experienced film makers sometimes lack; the ability to remember that the not everyone in the audience went to film school.
