The ending is not very strong for a melodrama

A thoroughgoing melodrama of political life in which Mr. Arthur Johnson plays the part of a candidate for the governorship. The opposition bribes his secretary to make up a scandal about him on the eve of election. The man's wife, an antique ring, the stenographer in the candidate's office are used by the secretary to bring about this scandal. The plot is fairly well handled and holds attention; but the ending is not very strong for a melodrama and the whole is old fashioned. The photographs and the acting are very good. It is not a sure feature; but will make a good filler. - The Moving Picture World, February 24 1912
