Looks like all is not rosy between Bret Michaels and his longtime girlfriend, Kristi Gibson: The pair have called off their engagement, according to Michaels' rep.
"Although the couple have separated they remain great friends and are committed to jointly raising their two daughters," the "Every Rose Has Its Thorn" singer's rep tells People.
Michaels and Gibson are parents to Raine Elizabeth, 12, and Jorja Bleu, 7. The couple got engaged in December 2010 after more than 16 year together. Michaels' proposal aired on the finale of his VH1 reality show, "Bret Michaels: Life As I Know It."
We're assuming the split could make its way into the biopic the Poison frontman is reportedly developing.
"Mostly, when you see rock movies, it has to be this over-the-top thing," Michaels tells the Columbus Dispatch. "I want to give people a Bret Michaels movie where they see that my life is a comedy of errors.

"Even though I was really struggling to get better and wasn't feeling great, I was just happy to be one of the 20% who lives to talk about it," says Bret, of his medical struggles ahead of the opening credits.
The show opens with Bret playing with his daughters at his Arizona house and while they're adorable, he is itching to head back out on the road. Now, the show's drama in this episode over whether Bret is physically well enough to go perform in Biloxi. But we already know that happened -- it was back on May 28. So the show is a bit lacking in urgency at this point.

Bret Michaels' "Riding Against the Wind" music video has made its way out via Billboard. This clip gives a closer look at how the Poison star juggles his life as a father of two little girls and a rocker with tight schedule on the road.
"Riding Against the Wind" is a single lifted from Michaels' latest solo studio album "Custom Built" which has been in stores since July this year. The song is also chosen as an anthem for his new VH1 reality show "Bret Michaels: Life As I Know It".
The show will premiere on October 18 at 10/9c. After the lights have dimmed on stage and the music stops for the night, Michaels rolls off the tour bus right into the loving arms of his daughters Raine and Jorja, who affectionately refer to him as "Poppa Rocka."...

He might not be headed down the aisle in the near future, but for Bret Michaels, marriage might make an honest man out of him yet. As the Rock of Love star made it clear earlier this year, he and long-time girlfriend Kristi Lynn Gibson aren’t planning to pick out matching engagement ring tattoos anytime soon. However just last week Michaels revealed that the chances of the couple making it legal are about “50/50.” Said the singer, “We’ve been talking a lot about getting engaged, and we’ll see what happens. We just want to make sure we’re not doing it for anyone other than ourselves.” We like those odds! Gibson, the mother of Michael’s’ two ridiculously cute children Raine, 10, and Jorja, 5, has been off and on with the singer for almost 16 years. The couple reunited after Michael’s serious health problems this past spring, and are apparently making it work.

Las Vegas doesn't have official odds on whether Bret Michaels and Kristi Gibson will finally get engaged. But Michaels says it's a better bet than ever. The chances that he and his on-and-off girlfriend of 16 years will decide to marry are now about "50/50," the rocker told People on Monday in Vegas. That's way up from the past few years - his VH1 Rock of Love days - when the odds were probably 1 in 100, he says. "We've been talking a lot about getting engaged, and we'll see what happens," said Michaels, 47, who was in Sin City to co-host the 2010 Miss Universe Pageant.

HollywoodNews.com: Rocker Bret Michaels has admitted his health crisis has made him want to be a better dad.
The ‘Poison’ frontman had a scare earlier this year when he suffered a brain haemorrhage. Michaels, 47, said the scare has made him want to be a better dad to his two daughters Raine, 10, and Jorja, five, whose mom is his long-term partner Kristi Gibson.
He said to UsMagazine.com: “After the haemorrhage, I realised how quickly things can be taken away from you. I just said: ‘Oh my God, now I’m really going to try to strive to be a great dad.’ My kids saved my life, and that is the truth. When I got that headache in April, my family was the first thought I had, so I rushed to the emergency room.”

The rocker and Poison front man reveals that his health crisis gave him a renewed focus on his most important role: Father.
A cerebral hemorrhage last spring almost cost Bret Michaels his life, which didn’t just scare him and his girlfriend, Kristi Gibson, but also deeply affected their two daughters, Raine, 10, and 5-year-old Jorja. “After the hemorrhage, I realized how quickly things can be taken away from you. I just said, ‘Oh my God, now I’m really going to try to strive to be a great dad,’” Bret says in an interview in Us magazine. “My kids saved my life, and that is the truth. When I got that headache in April, my family was the first thought I had, so I rushed to the emergency room.”
Since then, Bret has been more attentive not just to his kids (”Every morning [while I'm on tour], I call them before breakfast,”), but also to his health.

Rocker Bret Michaels has dismissed rumor that he proposed to his on/off girlfriend of 16 years, Kristi Lynn Gibson. During his appearance on CBS' "The Early Show" on Wednesday morning, July 14, the Poison star confirmed, "No. We are not engaged yet."
Though Lynn Gibson has been spotted wearing a large diamond ring, Michaels clarified that the rock does not represent an engagement. The 47-year-old star claimed, "[It's] a promise ring... a friendship ring, with benefits. That's what we call it."
Michaels, however, insisted that the engagement thing is on the future, saying "But yes, is it a work in progress? Absolutely." He further praised his longtime partner, "She's a beautiful woman. She's strong. I love her. We respect each other. And I think that's the start of a great relationship."
The engagement story was first run by U.S. tabloid the Star. According to the mag, Michaels popped the question during the Independence Day weekend.

So much for the Rock of Love and the bus it rode in on. Following his stroke, heart surgery and brain hemorrhage, Bret Michaels reunited with his off-again, on-again girlfriend of several years, Kristi Lynn Gibson, with whom he has two daughters, Raine and Jorja. The family, seen here at the Late Show With David Letterman looks adorable - gotta love a kid that can throw devil hands better than her rock star father, as daughter Raine is doing here. It’s too bad he already used the Rock Of Love Bus title for his show about the trashy ladies, we would have really preferred seeing him turn his kids into a traveling family band a la The Partridge Family and using the title in a more wholesome way, these girls look like they could rock out. VH1′s sneak peek at its fall reality series Bret Michaels: Life As I Know It featured footage shot before his emergency appendectomy and brain hemorrhage and showed the rocker as we’ve never seen him before: as a father. It’s only natural to want to compare it to The Osbournes — after all, the sight of Bret sitting in his 4-year-old daughter Jorja’s magic castle or driving his 9-year-old daughter Raine to the bus stop in a golf cart is about as surreal as seeing Ozzy Osbourne handling trash bags. But the storylines are definitely different: Bret...

Rocker Bret Michaels wants to make the most of his second chance at life by having another child with his girlfriend Kristi Gibson. The Poison frontman is recovering from a triple health crisis which saw him suffer a mild stroke last week and diagnosed with a hole in the heart, just as he was bouncing back from a near-fatal brain haemorrhage.
Michaels' brush with death has made him rethink his priorities in life and put family first - he recently revealed he was contemplating marrying Gibson, the mother of his two daughters, and now wants to cement their love with a new baby.
A source tells the National Enquirer, "He realizes now the most important thing is Kristi and his girls - and he wants to add to that family now. He wants a little boy." Michaels reportedly told a pal, "It would be so amazing to have a son - a little rocker dude!
