As the Undertaker announces his retirement, we look back at his Wrestlemania record...
This article is from Den Of Geek Us.
WrestleMania XXX was an eventful show. It calmed the fears of those afraid that it would crash the WWE Network and cause major damage to the company's latest venture. Cesaro broke away from his tag team and broke out by winning the Andre the Giant Memorial Trophy. Hulk Hogan, Steve Austin, and the Rock hung out in the ring and had a blast. Mr. T and Roddy Piper buried the hatchet. Daniel Bryan went through an endless supply of punishment before being defeating Triple H, Randy Orton, and Batista.
That was a big moment and a major story, but the thing people will be talking about for a long time is the end of Undertaker vs. Brock Lesnar. For the first time ever, Undertaker lost at...

Stone Cold Steve Austin thinks that Daniel Bryan’s in-ring style is what cost him his WWE career.
The former WWE World Heavyweight Champion was forced to call it a day due to numerous concussions and brain trauma, and the Texas Rattlesnake believes that Bryan’s move-set contributed significantly to that.
Speaking to TMZ, Austin said: “I just think Daniel Bryan worked a very physical cruiserweight style, and finally after everything that he did, it kinda took it out of him. I don’t think it’s (Cmt scans in wrestling) gonna be an epidemic, I just think it is what it is.”
Austin is well aware of the dangers in-ring life can bring, as his injuries forced him to retire after his match with The Rock at WrestleMania Xix.

If you’ve been following this series of articles, you’ll have read about my first trip to the Us for WrestleMania Xix, my New York trip in 2004 and then again for when WrestleMania went Hollywood in 2005.
I decided to take a break in 2006 in order to pay off some student debts and let my bank balance recover a little. Shortly after making that decision, WWE announced that Bret Hart would be inducted into the Hall of Fame during WrestleMania 22 weekend. I wish I’d seen the ceremony that year (featuring the inductions of Hart, Sensational Sherri, Gene Okerlund and Eddie Guerrero) but in terms of WrestleMania 22 itself, I was Ok to give the show a miss that year.
After my year off, I decided I’d go back the following year and set about booking up for WrestleMania 23 in Detroit, Michigan. With it being twenty...

After traveling to Seattle for WrestleMania Xix (which you can read about here), I had the bug and couldn’t help but travel to New York to see WrestleMania Xx. I’d always wanted to go to NYC, so if Seattle was possible then so was The Big Apple. I got my tickets in November 2003 and I was ready to go.
Sometimes you remember really random pieces of information and I can recall that starting in the summer of 2003, they had the WrestleMania Xx logo on everything WWE related from the website to t-shirts, you couldn’t miss it.
In spring 2003, the company announced the anniversary show would take place in Madison Square Garden and did interviews with Hulk Hogan and Roddy Piper to hype it. They both talked about how excited they were to be a part of the first Mania and be there in the same building twenty years later.

Rumors of a possible Steve Austin vs. Brock Lesnar match at WrestleMania 32 have persisted ever since Austin interviewed Paul Heyman on the Stone Cold Podcast. At the end of that interview, both Austin and Heyman went into character speaking of a possible showdown between the two men. The question at the time was why would these two have wasted television time on the WWE Network teasing this match if it wasn’t at least being considered?
Austin has vehemently denied for several months that any match against Lesnar was ever possible. However, a new interview with Fox Sports has raised the issue once more. Austin told Brian Fritz of Fox that he actually did consider doing the match.
“I considered it for just a brief moment but again, just like I tell everybody, what’s on the backside of a match like that, you know? I got out...

Recently, a lot of people have been giving The Dudley Boyz credit for the shape they’re in. Even though it was around a decade since their last regular gig together in WWE, Bubba Ray and D-Von look great on television, and also look like they haven’t missed a step. This week’s article looks at exactly who was responsible for bringing them back to the company.
That’s what this list is all about, providing facts that even the most hardcore of pro wrestling fans likely didn’t know last week. The grappling world moves quickly, which means there is always fresh news coming out every day. This means various facts come to light that weren’t exactly common knowledge previously.

Despite rumors a couple of months back that Steve Austin may have been considering returning for a match with Brock Lesnar at WrestleMania 32, Austin took to Twitter recently to shoot down the possibility.
You can take my name off the rumor mill as a Brock Lesnar opponent at WM32. Bullshit reporting.
— Steve Austin (@steveaustinBSR) September 25, 2015
The rumors started when Paul Heyman appeared as a guest on the Stone Cold Podcast live on the WWE Network on June 1. At the very end of the show, Heyman seemed to go into his manager character and poked and prodded at Austin about facing Lesnar. Austin, who last wrestled at WrestleMania Xix in 2003, then popped into the Stone Cold character and went off on Heyman about what it would be like to wrestle Lesnar.
Is it possible the match was under consideration when the Austin/Heyman segment went down on the WWE Network?...

A new book about the WWE Attitude Era was released earlier this month and former WCW Champion Sting was one of the big names interviewed for it.
In the book, he revealed a little known tidbit that he nearly signed with WWE in 2003 for a potential feud with “Stone Cold” Steve Austin.
“I had been negotiating with Vince [McMahon], and one of the ideas was for me to debut at the end of WrestleMania Xix and confront ‘Stone Cold’ Steve Austin. Negotiations fell apart and it never happened, but it makes you wonder, ‘What if?’ That was one of the times I was talking with Vince, and it would’ve been an incredible night that would’ve translated into some major, major rivalries and match-ups for years to come.”
Austin admitted that he had no idea Sting was close to signing at that point, but it would’ve been a moment for the ages.

About the Showcase of the Immortals, Austin said:

Austin’s convinced that he’ll be at the show, which takes place on April 3rd 2016 at the At&T Stadium in Alrington, Texas. As with Hulk Hogan, as with The Rock and as with John Cena, when Vince McMahon points his finger at a man and says “that’s the guy” he rarely loses. When he does lose, it’s as a result of any type of creative (or not so creative) chicanery.
Stone Cold Steve Austin debuted in the WWE in late 1995 as The Ringmaster, a gimmick as uninspired and dull as its name. He was paired with Ted Dibiase shortly before he left for WCW and if you’ve never seen one of The Ringmaster’s matches, you’ve missed nothing.
The first time that “Stone Cold” Steve Austin performed on PPV as Stone Cold Steve Austin was at Wrestlemania Xii from Anaheim. He won that night and hence begun a trend. One year later he would have arguably the greatest match in Wrestlemania history. Two years later, “the Austin era” began in earnest.

Rumours are flying that “Stone Cold” Steve Austin is in training for a comeback and wants to have one final match at WrestleMania. If the rumors are true, this would be Austin’s first wrestling appearance for World Wrestling Entertainment since WrestleMania Xix when he lost to the Rock in his retirement match.
Steve Austin is the biggest star in the history of professional wrestling. He helped bring the wrestling business to heights that no one ever thought possible and became a pop culture icon in the process. He filled arenas all over the country and redefined what a babyface wrestler could be. Quite simply, Steve Austin is the biggest draw and biggest superstar that WWE has even seen.
However, you can’t bring someone the caliber of Steve Austin back in a nothing match. Putting him in the ring with someone like the Miz would do absolutely nothing...

Modern wrestling fans will know the loud mouthed Jew from New York as a manager, representing the likes of the recent Streak Conqueror Brock Lesnar and the longest reigning WWE Champion of the last 25 years Cm Punk and his latest acquisition Cesaro, but few men have had as big an impact upon professional wrestling as Paul Heyman. Throughout his 25+ year career Heyman has been a manager, promoter, commentator and journalist in wrestling and a marketing guru outside of it.
He started out his managerial career under the moniker Paul E. Dangerously before leaving WCW on bad terms and joining forces with Nwa Eastern Championship Wrestling owner Tod Gordon to create the Ecw known today, Extreme Championship Wrestling. The company would change the face of wrestling forever before it went out of business and was purchased by the WWE. Heyman joined the new company as a heel colour commentator...

This Sunday is the biggest day on the calendar year for those of us who still prefer this Steve Austin over the one from The Six Million Dollar Man and who still get the urge to patriotically tear off our shirts whenever this terrible Rick Derringer song kicks in. It’s WrestleMania XXX (that’s XXX as in “30,” not in porn terms), and it’s airing live from New Orleans on Sunday night.
I’m particularly excited for this iteration of the show thanks to the development that has completely re-aligned the way I watch and think about the WWE’s theatrical grappling arts.

We are fast approaching the 30th annual WrestleMania event and it is the time of year when many wrestling fans look back on the famous event and revisit the moments that, for whatever reason, were memorable to them. Through the years there have been plenty of memorable moments at WrestleMania and dozens of wrestlers have carved themselves into the tree-bark of history with their performance on the grandest stage in professional wrestling. One of those wrestlers, of course, is the man who called himself “The Heartbreak Kid” and was labelled by fans and critics alike as “Mr WrestleMania”. That man is Shawn Michaels, and this DVD/Blu-ray package is about his legacy on WWE’s main stage.
Shawn Michaels made his WrestleMania debut as part of The Rockers tag team with Marty Jannetty to take on The Twin Towers in 1989 at the fifth annual show, and his last wrestling appearance...

Oh Hell Yeah.
Can you believe that it’s been 10 years since Stone Cold Steve Austin has wrestled? At WrestleMania Xix (in 2003), The Rock pinned Austin in what would be Austin’s last match. The next night on Raw, Eric Bischoff “fired” Austin, a necessary storyline to protect Austin from the ring. His body had finally waved the white flag, after years of struggling through his neck injury (sustained after a piledriver from Owen Hart at Summerslam ’97) and multiple knee surgeries. Unlike Edge’s retirement speech the night after WrestleMania 27 – also due to longstanding injuries – no one knew at the time that Austin’s departure from the ring would also be permanent.
But he was far from absent from WWE, and has served in many other capacities in the 10 years since. Shortly after his storyline firing, Linda McMahon re-hired Austin as Co-General Manager. He’s been a guest referee, participated in beer-drinking contests,...

Since being repackaged from his Nicky/Spirit Squad days, the man we know as Dolph Ziggler has stood out as one of the best heels in all of WWE, and given people dozens of reasons to hate his guts every time he puts a microphone near his face. He exudes smarmy charisma and a cocky strut that reminds one of both Ric Flair and the late Mr. Perfect.
When the bell rings, he shows off just as he says he can and will. Ziggler can wrestle, brawl, fly and pick apart a vulnerable limb until he decides a way to eliminate his opponent. He has held the Intercontinental Championship and United States Championship, as well as the World Heavyweight Championship…the latter for about the length of an average segment on Raw. The only thing missing from Ziggler’s resume is a one-on-one match that stands out as a true show-stealer,...

Ladies and Gentlemen, on this date nine years ago, John Cena faced off against Brock Lesnar for his WWE championship belt. The Pay-Per-View was Backlash 2003 and as the pair are about to clash in Sunday’s big main event at WWE Extreme Rules, the irony is rather freaky. On that day a villainous John Cena walked into the match facing against ”The Next Big Thing”. This was after Cena won a tournament following WrestleMania Xix to be crowned the number one contender.
John Cena defeated legends Eddie Guerrero, The Undertaker and Chris Benoit to earn him the title spot at Backlash for Lesnar’s WWE title.
It’s funny comparing things then to now. The scenarios really aren’t all that different, they’re interesting to say the least. These two men face each other this Sunday at WWE Extreme rules, but this time will John Cena be the one walking out the one victorious?...

The Limp Bizkit “Unicorns N’ Rainbows” reunion tour has been underway for almost a month, and the band has finally announced the first U.S. stop on the tour. The newly reconstituted band will headline The Beach at Mandalay Bay in Las Vegas on Friday, July 10 as part of the Ufc Fan Expo, leading up to the history Ufc 100 on July 11.
It has been eight years since the original lineup (including just-returned guitarist Wes Borland) has played a show in North America. It’s an appropriate return, as a band who had a huge hit called “Break Stuff” makes perfect sense as the opening act for a mixed martial arts event. If you won’t be in Vegas to watch Brock Lesnar take on Frank Mir and see Thiago “The Pitbull” Alves challenge Geroges “Rush” St-Pierre, the concert will also stream live on Ufc.com.
