The Chainsmokers‘ collaboration game has been on fire as of late. Following “Closer,” their massive new single, the Edm crossover duo have been announcing a string of major studio team ups this week, revealing upcoming songs with Linkin Park, Big Sean, and Weezer, as well as Coldplay’s Chris Martin. There’s enough A-list talent there to make any producer’s head spin, but now they’ve revealed that they’ve been hitting the studio with none other than Ryan Tedder of OneRepublic.
Taking to Snapchat, The Chainsmokers have offered up a brief glimpse at what they have cooking in the studio with Ryan Tedder, interspersed with Alex and Drew’s comedic antics. Towards the end of the clip, we also see Bono of U2 fame make an appearance during their session, though he appears to be lost and not on his way to join the collaboration.

The music video to U2's "Invisible" is out, and it may be a little sneak-peak into the band's aspirations for their next live tour. Bono's light-up, drop down mic has a big emphasis out of the black and white, shot by Mark Romanek; it's the rock band's first go-round with the director, who helmed a few little ditties including Nine Inch Nails' "Closer," Johnny Cash's "Hurt" and Michael Jackson's "Scream." So, yeah, the man loves his light. The bulb boards soar with movement behind the band and frontman Bono is able to navigate the catwalk in a sea of waving arms....

Revolving around the events that saw 30 Seconds to Mars sued by their own record label back in 2008 for $30m., Artifact is one of the greatest music documentaries ever made, and an important documentary for our times.
The music industry has been struggling for the best part of a decade with technology developing at a faster rate than it can keep up with, and this documentary gives an honest, frank, and inside look at the antiquated system that bands are faced with when they’re attached to a major label.
It’s easy to think of our favourite, globally-successful artists as wealthy individuals, but Artifact shows us that often the opposite is true. When they attempted to exercise their legal right to excuse themselves from their contract, Virgin/Emi went on the offensive and sued 30 Seconds to Mars for $30m., claiming further that the label was owed $1.7m. from the band.

Mark Romanek is no stranger to making you dance in your seat when you’re watching MTV — or any other channel, for that matter. The director behind those infectious iPod commercials, including the colorful, rocking U2 “Vertigo” spot, had millions of Vma viewers (12.4 million, to be exact) grooving along with the now-famous trio of hip-hop-happy hamsters (and a group of equally skilled robots who couldn’t resist a catchy beat) in the latest Kia Soul ad which aired during the awards show last night.

HollywoodNews.com: Sounds like country super star Keith Urban has a bit of a taste for the retro. At least, that’s the sense one gets from the selection of summer “Must Haves” that the artist gave to Entertainment Weekly for its comprehensive summertime entertainment double issue, due on stands 5/27. Keith, who heads out on the North American leg of his “Get Closer” tour June 16, insists he must have the following (but wait! No mention of Nicole Kidman and their girls?) :
1) My Boom Box. “I have an old Sony ghetto blaster from the ’80s that I got on eBay a long time ago. It’s one of the huge ones with a cassette deck in it, and sometimes we’ll set deck chairs under the bus awning and crank up a mixtape. I’ve got one that’s got everything from Hank Williams to U2 to Frank Sinatra to...

30 Seconds to Mars have done a lot in the time since they released their This is War album — world tours, nocturnal bike rides, dirty music videos — but they've yet to do a proper episode of "MTV Unplugged." Until now, that is.
On Friday, 30Stm taped what was, from the looks of things, a thoroughly epic installment of the long-running series. Though their "Unplugged" won't premiere until July, MTV Radio was on hand for the performance and spoke to frontman Jared Leto about being asked to participate and what it meant to him to contribute to the franchise's long and storied history.
"I think our generation, it was kind of a rite of passage, and if you were invited to do 'MTV Unplugged,' it...

Neil Tennant has said that U2 stars Bono and The Edge are having a "ghastly time" with the troubled Broadway musical Spider-Man: Turn Off The Dark. The Pet Shop Boys singer made the comment while talking about his group's ballet The Most Incredible Thing and their own 2001 stage musical Closer To Heaven. Tennant said: "[In the '90s] there were lots of pop musicals, so it felt like a bit a cliché to work in that, though really most of those are just catalogue musicals. "There's just Elton John, and Boy George, and Bono and The Edge, who are having a rather ghastly time in New York at the moment." He added: "I'm (more)...
