Princess: The Pilot version Warning: Spoilers
Araki: The Killing of a Japanese Photographer is basically a "pilot version" for the 2006 Danish animated film "Princess": The bare bones of the premise are still here, albeit a little bit unpolished. The art style is far more cartoonish, the scenes of action and violence are far more over-the-top, to the point of being almost humorous (Opposed to the most realistic, brutal violence of Princess) and some parts of the story seem to be a bit vague (Why does the vigilante protagonist spares Araki at the end, after ruthlessly killing so many innocent people in cold blood? Seriously, is almost like some parts of the story were missing)

The main difference, of course, is the setting, with the action taking place in Japan.

While all the changes made in the final film were largely for the best, it is still an entertaining animation due its over-the top action, to the point of almost feeling like a parody of vigilante films, disregard of the solemn tone of the final act. But to get the "full experience", I would recommend to watch "Princess" along with this.
