BBC bosses have reportedly almost signed Russell Grant for this year’s series of Strictly Come Dancing.
Insiders say that producers think the roly poly astrologer will be a big hit with viewers when the sequin filled extravaganza returns to our screens this September and it doesn’t matter if he doesn’t know his waltz from his samba, neither did Ann Widdecombe and the public loved her!
Speaking about the new signing, a BBC source told The Sunday Mirror:
“Russell is in advanced talks to appear. We can’t wait to get him on the dancefloor in his sequins.
“He’s a really loud, flamboyant character and is going to be great TV.
“He will lose weight in training before the show but he’s still going to be a big bloke and not the most nimble performer.
“It’s going to be hilarious, although whoever has to partner...

Ann Widdecombe has admitted that she previously turned down annual offers to appear on Strictly Come Dancing. The former politician, who is now competing in the BBC dance competition, also told Star magazine that she had declined offers from other reality television programmes because she disapproves of them. "I disapproved of Big Brother because it's nothing except voyeurism," she said. "At least with a show like Celebrity Fit Club, which I've done, the purpose was to get healthy. "With Strictly, the purpose is to learn to dance or at least try (more)...

Strictly Come Dancing hopeful Ann Widdecombe has admitted that she decided to do the BBC show, after seeing how much the public supported bumbling John Sergeant.
The former political commentator was a huge hit on the 2008 series of the show, when he was voted back repeatedly and came so close to winning, that he had to pull out of the competition.
On his unexpected success, Tory MP Ann told The Sun:
“I took inspiration from John Sergeant. Watching him was the thing that persuaded me to do it.”
The former Celebrity Fit Club contestant added that she is finding the physical aspects of the show most difficult, admitting that the complicated routines are ‘murder’ to master.
“The training is very tough,” she said. “We’re doing over five hours a day. I am fit, so I don’t find it physically draining.
“But technically it’s murder! I’m like...

The former MP has previously starred in Celebrity Fit Club and fronted her own ITV1 series, titled Ann Widdecombe Versus and now The Daily Mail have reported that she will be competing in the BBC dance reality TV show.
Widdecome refused to comment on the rumours saying: “I’m not able to talk about appearing on it at the moment.”
We think the Strictly producers are onto a good thing here, Anne would be a fiesty and fun addition to the lineup! Insiders suggest that both Peter Andre and Lennox Lewis have turned down Strictly offers but added that Holby star Patsy Kensit will be on the show this autumn.

Kitchen Burnout star Russell Grant has admitted that he turned to astrology to lose weight, after all the other ‘normal’ methods failed.
Russell is seen cooking alongside Marco Pierre White on the new ITV series, but the star told Stv that he would have been unable to do the show at all last year because of his poor physical state.
He said:
“I was nearly 24 stone, and I’m only short, about five foot six. I couldn’t even walk a few yards without using a stick.
“All the weight I’d lost in Celebrity Fit Club a few years earlier, I’d put on, again…and more.
“It came to the point, I had to do something because there were so many good things happening to me astrologically.
“So I started my diet on a new moon, and then basically each day looked at the aspects. I found that...
