Sex & Nudity
-
- One scene shows two girls showering together, with their bare breasts fully detailed.
- A man is implied to have been caught masturbating in one scene.
- Full Metal Panic balances with lighthearted comedy and gritty mech drama at times, so it's best to say that it's very tone changing when it comes to subject matter.
- Characters sometimes wear tight outfits and beach clothing that expose cleavage at times.
- The characters go to a hot spring in one episode. The (non-detailed) breasts and buttocks of various female characters can be seen.
- Some sexual references are present.
- One episode has a plot about a sex offender who glues girls' hair into ponytails.
- Sousuke accidentally grabs Kaname's breast during one scene, much to her anger. This is more comical than sexual, however.
- While speaking as a profane drill instructor, a character makes some (partially bleeped) crude sexual remarks. He tells a group of boys to think of their rugby balls as 'a wet c**t and f**k it as hard you can'.
- Whenever a character becomes a "Whispered", they become fully nude, however their sensitive parts are covered by hair.
Violence & Gore
-
- Scenes of moderate to strong military violence; slightly stronger than the first season of Full Metal Panic in terms of detail.
- Blood is somewhat scarce but realistic so may appear disturbing. Some characters suffer cuts that are deep and inner flesh can be seen.
- Slapstick violence is present during Sousuke's escapades in high school from characters being maimed by various traps Sousuke lies around from landmines to paint traps. A running gag depicts Kaname slapping Sousuke with a paper fan as a result for his deeds.
- Action violence is present during the mecha battles. Blood also appears during scenes of gun violence as well.
- The majority of the show features only mild comic violence/weapon use and explosions, associated with the main character's military past.
Profanity
-
- One notable scene in which strong language is heavily used in the English dub, with repeated use of 'f**k'. Regular use of 's**t', 'damn', 'hell', and 'bastard'.
- Some language like "damn" and "hell" are present.
- Quite strong for a TV-PG, including frequent use of mild language like 'damn', 'hell', 'ass' and 'bastard', as well as occasional use of stronger words like 'shit', 'bitch', and 'douchebag'.
- One episode has a character comically speaking like a profane drill instructor. Strong language is partially bleeped ('f**k', 'c**t', 'c**ksucker'), but the words can clearly be made out.
Alcohol, Drugs & Smoking
-
- Characters sometimes drink beer or smoke casually during bar scenes.
Frightening & Intense Scenes
-
- Mech battles tend to be intense at times.
- Despite the TV-PG rating on the official discs, there is a great deal of profanity, fanservice, and risque humor in this series that may make it unsuitable for young children.
- Certain moments can be emotional to sensitive people.
- It is noted that FMP becomes more darker towards the end with elements than can be intense for certain viewers.
