- This is a family friendly kids Nintendo game with comical violence.
- Yoshi can be seen attacking comical monsters with egg throwing, ground pounding, and even swallowing monsters whole and turning them into eggs.
- The Yoshi's in this game can be seen getting hit by comical monsters, losing flower petal HPs. If they lose all 8 of the flower petals, the Yoshi will be knocked out and carried off into the dark castle of Bowser Jr.
- If Yoshi falls down a pit, gets swallowed by a fish or falls in the lava and gets burned, then the Yoshi will be knocked out and carried off into the dark castle of Bowser Jr.

- Although this is a kids Nintendo game. There are some hard challenges in the game and some of the monsters may be a little scary.
- Even though this is an easy game to win. Some levels can be challenging when trying to get all 3 big smiling hearts, all 30 melons in 6 of the 24 levels you choose.
- There are some scary comical monsters including the blargg coming out of the lava and dead skeleton monsters and boo monsters.
- Some levels in Yoshi's story in Baby Bowsers castle may be a little scary.
- This game is rated E for comical violence, comic mischief
