Childhood memories of monsters and comedy
crystalrubi14 September 2004
I grew up in the Rio Grande Valley in Texas so I've watched a ton of Mexican movies but none made me as giddy as India Maria Movies. This is definitely one of my favorites. La India Maria is up to her old antics after she becomes the sole care taker of a little poodle that has inherited money from an old woman. The family members are of course furious and make plans to get rid of the poodle and Maria by setting up a house of horrors?! A very crazy plot and one of the few movies in which La India sings in which is an especially funny part. If you love silly movies or have been a fan of Maria Elena Velasco for a long time I insist you watch this movie. For some people it will seem like nonsense especially if this edition doesn't have subtitles. Some of the humor just can't be translated but if you know Spanish this is truly a treasure. I've never seen a subtitled version so it might be just as good. El Miedo no Anda en Burro is a throw back to the old Hollywood monster movies with a whole lot of comedy.

Loved it!

I enjoyed this movie so, so much! I love the one and only India Maria! What a comedian! I have always believed she was a pure genius and creative in all her movie roles. So seeing this movie with her and that adorable doggy was the perfect combination. I loved the storyline. It was enjoyable and unpredictable. There was a lot of funny moments, but that is not very surprising when India Maria has the leading role. I highly recommend it if you decide to see it and if you like India Maria, you'll enjoy this movie. And if you're an animal lover, you'll see Mimi accompany la India Maria as the leading role.
