Dive under the sea for some Disney fun!
TheLittleSongbird22 December 2011
Of the Disney Sing-along-songs series, Under the Sea is not one of the best for me. As wonderful as the song Under the Sea is, and how good the animation is, I didn't think the first verse repeat was necessary as such. Also Under the Sea has the same problem that some of the other videos in the series also suffer from, some of the links are flatly animated, especially at the start. However, the animation in the songs is absolutely beautiful, with Kiss the Girl, By the Beautiful Sea and Someone's Waiting For You faring best. I love all the songs, from the toe-tapping Under the sea to the poignant Someone's Waiting For You. Never Smile at a Crocodile is also very amusing, and A Whale of a Tale is lovely for anybody who is a fan of Disney's live action movies and 20000 Leagues Under the Sea. At the Codfish Ball and Sailing Sailing are entertaining songs in their own right, with an opportunity to revisit some childhood gems such as Merbabies. Under the Sea also has one of my favourite edits, alongside the link with Professor Owl and Panchita in Heigh Ho, with Professor Von Drake's(after A Whale of a Tale I believe) "I don't have a tatoooo!.... (cue the SPLAT") was I off key?" All in all, a lot of fun, if not quite the best. 8/10 Bethany Cox

Dive with more Disney sing-alongs!
OllieSuave-00721 August 2015
This is a direct-to-video special musical where you can read the on-screen lyrics and sing-along to some of your favorite Disney songs from various movies including The Little Mermaid, Peter Pan, The Sword In The Stone, 20,000 Leagues Under The Sea and The Rescuers.

It's a nicely packaged video with a good arrangement of songs (including Under the Sea, Never Smile at a Crocodile and A Whale of a Tale) played over Disney movie clips that will make you relive the adventures and musical magic from those movies. I remember buying this video from Target and was glad to add it into my family's Disney video collection. Some of the songs, though, were a bit more low-key or less popular than the more exciting ones in other Disney Sing-Along-Songs programs, but they're still very good to listen to nonetheless. I especially liked the extended arrangement of Under the Sea and the editing of the sequence to include more scenes of Ariel.

It's a very nice 28 min. program where you can just sit back, relax and journey through the open sea with.

My first Sing-Along-Songs collection that's as good as 'The Little Mermaid'
Stompgal_8723 September 2013
I had no idea these Sing-Along-Songs videos would be listed here on IMDb until I came across one through TheLittleSongbird's profile and I decided to search for more titles to see which ones I could remember. Alongside 'Be Our Guest,' '101 Notes of Fun' and 'Colours of the Wind,' this is one of the best.

Most of the songs are catchy, especially the songs from 'The Little Mermaid,' 'By the Beautiful Sea,' 'The Codfish Ball,' and 'That's the Way the World Goes Round' while 'Someone's Waiting For You, is poignant, it probably made me cry as a kid. 'Never Smile At A Crocodile' is a surprising addition and I feel it was based on the original crocodile music from 'Peter Pan.' I haven't seen '20, 000 Leagues Under The Sea,' but 'A Whale of a Tale' is still worth listening to and has a captivating sea shanty feel. I also believe that 'Part of Your World' should have been included but it is on another 'Sing-Along-Songs, video.

Overall this is a memorable collection of Disney songs that was an essential part of my childhood. 9/10.
