Most filmmakers — even the likes of Martin Scorsese and Christopher Nolan — have likely had a “pinch me” moment on set when they’re watching some wild idea they once dreamed up come to life before their eyes. For Lav Bodnaruk, his moment arrived earlier this year in Australia while directing 1990s pop icon Vanilla Ice, who at the time was covered head to toe in blood and killing zombies with a drill.
“It was like, this is crazy,” he explains. “And Vanilla Ice was the same. He couldn’t believe that we were turning him into an action hero.”
The film in question, Zombie Plane, being sold at the AFM by Studio Dome and which Bodnaruk co-directed alongside Michael Mier, might not sound like it’s towards the serious end of the cinematic spectrum. And it isn’t. At all. And Ice isn’t even the only once big name appearing.

While unveiling its slate of new French originals and acquisitions on Monday, Prime Video announced that it would skip a French theatrical release for “Challengers,” Luca Guadagnino’s anticipated tennis drama. The film, which stars Zendaya, Josh O’Connor and “West Side Story” star Mike Faist, will still be released in theaters in all other territories.
During a posh press event hosted at the Pavillon Royal on the outskirts of Paris, Brigitte Ricou-Bellan, Prime Video’s country managing director for France, said the strategic move by the Amazon streamer resulted from France’s notoriously strict windowing rules, which demands streamers to wait 15 to 17 months after a theatrical roll out before making a new film available on their services. The rule has led other studios to opt to skip French cinemas for new releases before, such as Disney’s decision to debut “Strange World” on streaming.
“We’re a strong partner for French cinema and well-established talent.

Get ready for this blast from the past! While chatting with Josh Henderson on the set of his Rogue magazine cover shoot—which hits stands June 1— at Sls Hotel in Beverly Hills, E! News' Zuri Hall got The Arrangement star to spill the beans about his previous relationship with Ashlee Simpson Ross and the time he appeared on her MTV reality series, The Ashlee Simpson Show, in 2004. Remember this?!! "Well, she and I dated for about a year and a half and we were super close," Josh explained. "We were kids. Did “Shadow” just get you? Are you an emotional brunette trapped in a bubbly blonde’s body? Did Ryan Cabrera‘s frosted tips make you weak in the knees? If you answered “yes” to any of these, then you probably miss The Ashlee Simpson Show more than we do.
In 2004 MTV launched a reality series around Ashlee Simpson, which introduced us to Jessica’s younger sister who tried at every opportunity to remind viewers that she wasn’t like the Newlyweds star. It’s been 10 years since the first episode, and while a lot has changed — including her hair color, nose and status as a recording artist — there are a handful of essential Ashlee moments that will remained ingrained in our brains forever.

Her new single "Boomerang" hits the airwaves on March 10th and in anticipation for the release Nicole Scherzinger scored a feature in the Hurts issue of Notion magazine.
Embracing her dark side, the "X Factor" judge posed for the Mark Cant shot spread while opening up about everything from her audition for "Popstars" to turning down a chance to work with Calvin Harris.
During the interview, the Pussycat Doll dame recalls her thoughts about auditioning for the hit singing competition and said, "I was so theatre at the time. I was like 'I am not going to be a Spice Girl.' That wasn't me"
"I mean I'm a Spice Girls fan now, but at the time I only wore black and I was Goth. I would have been Goth Spice. Ethnic Chanting Spice, that's who I thought I was," she added.
When making the final decision, Nicole's mother finally talked her into it.

Nicole Scherzinger was 'Goth Spice' when she was younger. The 'Poison' singer used to be a rock chick and spent a year as a backing singer for band Days Of The New when they toured as a support act for the Foo Fighters. After leaving the band, Nicole was working as a make-up artist for Lancome in 2001 and still dressing in black and leather when her mother convinced her to audition for 'Popstars' - which she won as part of girl group Eden's Crush - but at the time she didn't want to change her look to become a pop babe like the members of the all-conquering band. If you take a look at the music charts today, it’s rare to see a Top 10 that isn’t filled with glossy American popstars who just want to dance on the floor/party rock/put their hands up/raise their glass (I could keep on going) so sometimes it’s healthy to take a look at things from the other side of the world. Over in South Korea, China and Japan it is very rare for any of the artists we take for granted to dominate the charts considering these countries are each filled with their own pop culture. Cracking the east Asian market is the equivalent of British musicians trying to crack America – near on impossible. You may think ‘What’s the point? I’ve never heard of any of these people and the only ones listening to them are those crazy asian kids who stay on chatrooms...

When Nicole Scherzinger got fired from "The X Factor" on Monday (Jan. 30), it may have come as a shock to some. But the signs were all there that the tenure of the former Pussycat Doll, who herself was discovered on the singing competition "Popstars," was doomed from the start.
Fans of the show know that Scherzinger wasn't even producers' first choice for the fourth judge's chair. She was actually a late replacement after Cheryl Cole got the hook. And without proper time to really test out the chemistry, the Scherzinger experiment was off to a rough beginning.
While she did a nice job helping runner-up Josh Krajcik get to the finals, it was his talent that was really the key here.
Scherzinger was often the victim of barbs from Simon Cowell. While this is par for the course for Cowell, it was clear that he viewed her as a music...

var brightcovevideoid = '1190033845001'; A new feud is brewing on The X Factor. It's week two of Simon Cowell's new show - and auditions continued on Wednesday in Chicago, where Cheryl Cole returned for her last stint on the judges' panel (sniff, sniff), before returning to Seattle, where her replacement, Nicole Scherzinger, sparred in the most delightful way with her boss. The two-hour episode had its high notes - Drew Ryniewicz, 14, sang "Baby" by Justin Beiber better than the pop star himself; lovesick duo Makenna & Brock performed "Colder Weather" by Zac Brown Band; and Skyelor Anderson wowed the judges...

Chicago – Singing competitions are becoming as pervasive as sports on TV. But as the “leagues” multiply, will the audience show up to yet another franchise? The granddaddy of all prime time singing judges, Simon Cowell, hopes he has “The X Factor” to create another hit, which premieres September 21st on Fox.
Television Rating: 3.5/5.0
Using the tried and true format that made him a phenomenon, Simon Cowell again puts a panel of judges in front of potential singing stars to find what he calls “The X Factor” that separates mega-stars from mere singers. Signing up his old “American Idol” sidekick Paula Abdul, plus a guy who looks like Randy Jackson, (L.A. Reid) Cowell hopes to strike ratings gold again.

Nicole Scherzinger thinks that she would be the perfect choice for Simon Cowell’s new X Factor panel.
The former Pussycat Doll stepped in as a guest judge on the UK version last year, after Dannii Minogue took maternity leave and Cheryl Cole was diagnosed with malaria and speaking on ITV’s Lorraine said that she empathised and felt for all the hopefuls who tried out.
Scherzinger won a reality TV series named ‘Popstars’ in 2001 and subsequently joined girlband Eden’s Crush.
Speaking about how that experience fed into her X Factor judging style she said:
“That whole experience was so new to me, but it was fun and I guess if anyone can empathise with what they are going through – I’ve been through the exact same audition process, that’s how I got my big break in the Us. And it’s what I love more than anything in the world,...

Nicole Scherzinger has admitted that she would have entered The X Factor if she hadn’t yet found fame.
In 2001, beauty competed in the premiere season of American reality TV show Popstars, on which she earned a spot in the all-girl pop group Eden’s Crush. She later went on to join the Pussycat dolls and found fame as their lead singer.
Speaking to Heat magazine, Scherzinger admitted that she ‘without a doubt’ would have entered the X Factor. She said:
“I’d hope to win the whole thing, obviously! I’m just a naturally competitive person, but it comes from a good place.”
Speaking about Elton John’s recent criticism of TV talent shows, she added:
“We’ll he’s Elton John and he’s got his own throne, so he doesn’t ever need to worry about that.

Marlon McKenzie has admitted that he was glad when the X Factor judges changed the rules regarding categories this year.
The 28 year old Mancunian singer, was seen making enjoying his Third audition on last night’s show, he previously made it through to bootcamp in both 2005 and 2008, but failed to make it as far as the live shows. This year Marlon sang Ain’t No Sunshine for the panel, and what should have been a cheesy performance, was actually quite amazing. Simon Cowell enthused:
“’I’ve got to be honest, when you said you were going to sing Ain’t No Sunshine, I thought oh god we’re going to hear that same old version we’ve heard thousands of times. The fact that you came with your own version of it, actually made the song sound incredibly current, I’ve got a good feeling about you as a person.

X Factor guest judge Nicole Scherzinger has insisted that this year’s winner doesn’t need to be the best singer on the show.
The 32 year old Pussycat Doll star shot to fame after winning Us reality TV show Popstars in 2001 and says that it is much more important to believe in yourself and your performing skills, than to be the best singer on the stage.
She told The Sun:
“You don’t have to have the greatest voice ever. For me, it’s if you believe it as a performer.
“If you believe the music and you believe in your singing, then I’m going to believe it.”
On her own experience with auditions and reality TV, Nicole added:

Simon Cowell was reportedly so impressed by Nicole Scherzinger’s stint as a guest judge on The X Factor last month, that he has hired her for a permanent role on his new American version of the show.
It was widely reported that Nicole’s appearance at the X Factor’s Manchester tryouts was being seen as an audition for Simon’s new stateside talent show, but few suspected that she would have done so well. The news was especially shocking to those that had seen her wooden critiques on Us reality TV show P.Diddy’s Starmaker!
However, obviously the Pussycat Doll has been honing her judging skills. Her last TV role was on an NBC a cappella singing competition The Sing Off and the experience paid off. A source told the Mirror:

If you happen to run into singer, dancer, Pussycat Dolls frontwoman and "Dancing With the Stars" champion Nicole Scherzinger today, be sure to give her a big hug and a cake with 32 candles on it, as it's her birthday. The woman who began her career as a member of the made-for-tv girl group Eden's Crush (the result of the short-lived WB program "Popstars") has had quite a year, assaulting the entertainment world on several different fronts and managing to excel just about everywhere in the process.
Though her debut solo album has long been delayed, that hasn't stopped Scherzinger from putting out killer music. The Pussycat Dolls last put out an album in 2008 (the excellent Doll Domination) and since then they have broken two huge singles: the English version of "Jai Ho! (You Are My Destiny)" (the Oscar- and Grammy-winning tune from "Slumdog Millionaire") and the British club hit "Hush Hush; Hush Hush.

Even though she wasn't the highest scoring contestant on this week's episode of "Dancing With the Stars," Nicole Scherzinger remains the favorite in this season's competition. It's easy to see why. As a trained dancer, she moves with the sort of grace and confidence that even gold medal Olympian Evan Lysacek can't match. Scherzinger will face competition from Lysacek, exponentially improving Espn reporter Erin Andrews and a feisty Niecy Nash, but the show is essentially hers to lose.
Ironically, Scherzinger's career got started on a reality show competition back in 2001. As a winning contestant on the WB show "Popstars," Scherzinger was a founding member of Eden's Crush, a girl group who scored a gold record, a radio hit with "Get Over Yourself (Goodbye)" and spots on tours with Jessica Simpson and *Nsync. When Eden's Crush decided to disband, Scherzinger joined the Pussycat Dolls back when they were still a Los Angeles-based burlesque troop.
