There is little more thrilling in an analysis of Mad Men than to justifiably begin with Joan. Everything about her, from her bright colorful radiance to her unshakeable resilience and forked tongue, is captivating. This season she has been reintroduced slowly but tantalizingly, and no I am not referencing her sexuality, an underpinning of her characterization that certainly relates to her story development, but not does define it. In the premiere we saw her only momentarily, posing for a photo on Scdp’s new stairway, but the conflict between her and the ever-petty and impetuous Harry was hinted at even then, as he rudely brushed past her, jealously brimming. In last week’s episode, “The Collaborators”, Joan was faced with the shame of last season’s decision to sleep her way to partner when she encountered, then unequivocally shot down, the beneficiary of her deal, one stout and clumsy Herb Rennet of Jaguar.

Another day, another Comic-Con schedule! Are you ready to plan out our Saturday at this years convention!? Once again there's a ton of great panels going on including Iron Man 3, Pacific Rim, Man of Steel, The Hobbit, Marvel TV, Django Unchained, The Simpsons, Family Guy, and more!
Saturday has shaped up to be a hell of a great day for those of you attending Comic-Con. I've put *** next to all of the panels that we want to attend, but like every year, I'm sure we'll be covering a lot more stuff.
We'll be wearing our GeekTyrant shirts, so if you see us walking around San Diego and the convention center, please stop and and say hi! We'd love to meet our readers. We will also be holding our annual meet-up on Wednesday night before the crazy geek storm.
Check out the schedule below and let us know what panels you'll be attending,...

In 1999, Entertainment Weekly ran an article asking, "Is the sitcom dead?" At the time, the answer seemed simple enough: If it wasn't dead already, it was certainly dying. A fading "Friends," "Frasier," and "Everyone Loves Raymond" were the only highly-rated sitcoms that remained on the network television schedule, and conventional and largely unfunny sitcoms like "King of Queens," "The Drew Carrey Show," and "Dharma and Greg" typified most of the rest of networks' comedy schedule.
But there were two marginally rated and spectacular shows lurking in the background of the television schedule that year that would help usher in the modern sitcom: Aaron Sorkin's "Sports Night" and "Newsradio." "Sports Night" was a single camera comedy with elements of drama that introduced us to the Walk and Talk. It also had no laugh track, which was almost unheard of at the time for a show purporting to be a comedy.
