POSSIBLE SPOLER ALONG THE WAY. BUT NOTHING SERIOUS, I ASSURE YOU.
I am so fonded of the memory of the TV series SEÑORITA MAESTRA, and, at the same time, appalled and distraught of just having found out about Cristina Lemercier's suicide (even though it happened 11 years ago), as well as some unsavory incidents involving some of the other cast members, that one can't help but wonder how many moons have passed since those days. How remarkably different things were back in my generation (I am 28 years old currently; was about 6 at the time of the series), and how rotten everything is now, no thanks to so many aspects I won't debate about.
The premise was simple, yet deeply endearing: a devoted school teacher and her students (the somehow clichéd pack of different personalities, all together in a big group); they all spent about 3 years together, until she has to move on on them. I remember that ending, it made me bawl like a baby sheep. Most of the characters stayed throughout the entire duration of the series, while some left untimely and some others were added on the run.
The adventures and misadventures of this bunch were enough to make you laugh-out-loud, bring you down to tears, and sometimes even shock you (like that episode where one of the students got his mouth washed with soap for using foul language; quite useful and necessary, in my current experience). But in all, to think about it is a sweet drawback to days of innocence, days when things were so much simpler, when everyone cared for others a little more, days that won't be back.
