- A hot, thirsty man in the desert is tormented when the things he needs drop from the sky only to disappear again or hover out of his reach.
- A man (Sean Foley) is pushed backwards onto stage. It is a desert landscape: sand dunes and a cheesy blue sky. Somebody whistles to him from one side, his left. He goes there, but is pushed to the centre of the desert. He hears a whistle from the opposite side, tries to escape through that side but it is also impossible - he is pushed back. This happens again and again until he gives up. On the next occasion, he goes in the opposite direction of the whistle, to no avail. He sits down and tries to protect his semi-bald head from the sun.
A palm with one protruding branch falls down. He likes its shadow and it sits on the sand.
A pair of scissors falls down. He doesn't know much what to do with it. He cuts his fingernails under the shadow of the palm tree. The palm closes itself like an umbrella, leaving spread out only the protruding branch.
A bottle with some liquid and a notice saying WATER is hanging by a piece of rope, too high for the man to catch. He is becoming tired and sweaty, and his clothes are getting dirtier by the second.
A big box falls gently down, but when he steps onto it, it is not enough to reach the bottle of water. Another smaller box falls down. The main and only characters puts the big box on top of the small box, but he loses his equilibrium and falls down onto the sand, so next time he puts the small one on top of the big box. Like that, he could reach the bottle, but the bottle of water is raised to avoid him succeeding.
The man puts each box in a corner of the stage. Another small box shows up. The whistle is heard again, but this time the man ignores it.
This time it is another rope with knots on it. When he is about to pick the bottle of water, he slides down.
The man devises a plan. He gets hold of the knotty rope and cuts a big piece of coil with the scissors. He tries to lasso it, but the bottle of water is lifted and disappears.
The man devises another plan - to use the boxes to jump onto the palm's branch and to lasso the bottle from there. When he is about to do it, the branch moves and points to the soil and the sand, leaving the man heart-broken.
Another whistle. The man tries to leave through his right, but he is pushed back. He lifts himself up and prepares himself in a boxing fighting position. He seems to look at his hands in disbelief.
He picks up the scissors again and cuts another nail. He puts the scissors on top of the small box and the piece of rope. While he is giving his back to all these items, they are lifted and disappear.
Defeated, he wants to sit down on it and rest for a while, but the big box is lifted as well and flies away, pushing him to the floor.
He is on his own. In the background, the dunes and the closed umbrella-like palm tree stay in silence.
