Hilarious display of incompetence!

'Daar doer in die Bosveld' is a hilarious look at Hans Botha (Jamie Uys), who at best is uncomfortable around women. When he is asked to pick up a teacher from the bus stop, he finds himself in uncharted territory - with hilarious results. With his car giving him endless hassles, the results are sure to get you reeling with laughter. (The reverse scene was excellent!).

Jamie Uys does a great job as Hans. He has a knack for comedy and one can't help but sympathize with the character, who is trying his best given the circumstances. Hettie Uys stars as the poor, unsuspecting teacher, Martie, who must endure Hans' incompetence. 'Daar doer in die Bosveld' is a feel-good movie that is bound to put a smile on your face!

Uys is undoubtedly one of South Africa's best directors from yesteryear. The very premise for 'Daar doer in die Bosveld' became the premise for Jamie Uys' 1980 movie 'The Gods must be Crazy', where Marius Weyers excellently portrayed the role of the man sent to pick up the teacher. To be honest, one could easily give 'Daar doer in die Bosveld' a skip, and rather watch the far more superior 'The Gods must be Crazy' instead.
