ROME -- Mediaset on Sunday announced plans to make a for-television movie based on the life of Augusto de Megni, the winner in the sixth and final season of Grande Fratello, the Italian version of the Big Brother franchise. Though ratings for the Grande Fratello series began to slip after the second season, the program ended its run as the most popular reality program in Italian television history. The final season drew to a close a week ago, with the final program drawing Grande Fratello's highest rating in two years. De Megni was declared the winner after 111 days cut off from the outside world. Italy closely followed the activities of the young people in a house built on the grounds of Cinecitta Studios in Rome.
