The idea of putting zoophilia in the film came from José Mojica Marins himself, and Vânia Bonier didn't flinch for an instant when she was called into action. The making out between the girl and Jack (the German shepherd) sounds coherent in the midst of the planned chaos of 24 hours, however, contrary to what most people seem to believe, the infamous sex was never intended to actually happen.
"It was all simulated, at no time is there penetration, it was all planned like that," explains Virgílio Roveda, the photographer and cameraman of the film, revealing that it was easier to film the scene than they imagined at first. Vânia corroborates the statement and says that this was in the contract, "there was even a veterinarian standing by for any emergency".
