Many fans are familiar with Batman: The Animated Series (1992), but there is actually a show called The Batman Animated Series (2004) which remained less popular despite its six Daytime Emmy Awards. The story behind its creation is quite as interesting as the series’ unique take on Batman.

Actor Julian Sands specific cause of death may never be officially determined, according to the San Bernardino County Coroner.
A spokesperson for the San Bernardino County Sheriff’s Department told multiple media outlets that the coroner’s conclusion regarding the cause of Sands’ passing is “undetermined due to the condition of the body and this is common when dealing with cases of this type.” CNN reported that the spokesperson also added, “This is the final determination.”
About a month ago, the San Bernardino County Sheriffs office confirmed that the human remains had been found in a remote wilderness area by hikers and were, indeed, those of the actor.
At the time, the Sheriff’s office issued a statement that said in part, “On Saturday, June 24, 2023, at about 10:00 a.m., civilian hikers contacted the Fontana Sheriff’s Station after they discovered human remains in the Mount Baldy wilderness. Fontana Station deputies,...

Henry Gilroy probably wrote your childhood. As a film and television screenwriter, Gilroy's credits include "Batman: The Animated Series," "Jackie Chan Adventures," "Justice League Unlimited," and ""Ultimate Spider-Man." He also wrote for almost every animated series based on a movie, "Lilo & Stitch: The Series" and "DreamWorks Dragons: The Nine Realms," not to mention an extended relationship with the animated "Star Wars" stories. The point is, Gilroy probably knows what he's doing, right? There are simply too many well known credits attached to his name for the guy to be bad at his job.
And yet, even he struggles with studio interference. While Jackie Chan has always been an affable and comedic performer, even going back to his early martial arts films from the 1970s, something curious happened when he broke into the Hollywood mainstream in the late 1990s. Producers looked at Chan's playful, heroic, somewhat goofy charm and shifted it into overdrive. Chan's American films, as a result, tended to be incredibly broad, full of silly mugging, "culture clash" humor, and a general lack of stakes. Chan's first major American hit was Brett Ratner's "Rush Hour" in 1998, a serviceable but largely unremarkable police comedy wherein Chan played opposite Chris Tucker. That film was such a runaway success (it made over 244 million worldwide) that a pattern was immediately set for Chan. Pair him with an unlikely co-star, put him in generic action scenarios, and watch the money roll in.

The story of the Monkees is well known to any fan of 1960s pop music. Producers Bob Rafelson and Bert Schneider, inspired by the freewheeling antics they witnessed in Richard Lester's celebrated 1964 Beatles film "A Hard Day's Night," wanted to capture a similar energy on the small screen. Widespread auditions were held to form a new band that possessed musical talent, but, more importantly, screen chemistry and maybe some acting acumen. The production team was lucky to land one Micky Dolenz, a former child star who appeared on the long-forgotten sitcom "Circus Boy." Davy Jones and Mike Nesmith followed. Peter Tork was suggested by his friend Stephen Stills. While the Monkees did not form organically, they did have chemistry, and possessed humor and acting talent that their less interesting Liverpudlian counterparts never did. Yes, it is now written. The Monkees are, in their way, more interesting than the Beatles.

With over 250 million copies sold, Masashi Kishimoto's "Naruto" is one of the most popular manga series in the world. Over the past 20 years, the famous story has been adapted from the popular manga into three equally popular anime series, "Naruto," "Naruto Shippūden," and "Boruto." However, despite Kishimoto's rich world, intricate storylines, and groundbreaking fights, the series wouldn't be quite as popular without its knucklehead protagonist, Naruto Uzumaki, and there would be no Naruto without Maile Flanagan.
According to a 2014 interview with Western Herald, Flanagan started out in improv before moving into the world of acting. In the late '90s and early 2000s, she made small appearances in "MADtv," "Men in Black: The Series," and "Jackie Chan Adventures" before landing "Naruto" in 2002. Prior to becoming Naruto's English voice, Flanagan had never heard of the character or the manga. "I had no idea how big 'Naruto' was," she told a...

Everything Everywhere All at Once describes Michelle Yeoh’s career right now. She is everywhere. As Emperor Philippa Georgiou in Star Trek: Discovery, she boldly went where no one has gone before with a role so scene-stealing that there’s talk of a spin-off dedicated just to her character. Yeoh also dominated as the powerful matriarch and ultimate “tiger mom” Eleanor Young in Crazy Rich Asians. And she’s one of the only actors to play two completely different characters in the MCU: Ying Nan in Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings and Aleta Ogord in Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2. A24’s multiverse-spanning science fiction film Everything Everywhere All at Once is one more indication that Yeoh isn’t slowing down. Growing up action movies were, for me, second only to horror flicks as my go to genre. I used to scour the pages of Impact for news on the latest films and then pre-order the VHS at my local video shop – because yes, back in the day you could actually pre-order a video rental and I Always had to be first to rent my most-anticipated flicks! I mention this only because it was back in that era that the action movie star was king. Starting out with the likes of Stallone and Schwarzenegger, the VHS era gave birth to a myriad of action movie superstars: guys like Jean-Claude Van Damme, Steven Seagal, Jeff Speakman, Jeff Wincott and the queen of action films Cynthia Rothrock… all of whom carved out careers in what were – for the most part – direct to video films.

It didn’t take long for Amazon to show that it’s really getting behind its original programming theory. It doesn’t seem that long since we were running through the pilots and filling out polls, but Amazon is already saying it wants to see more, and continue on this road.
Five more shows aimed at children will produce pilots in the hopes of getting a series green light, and like the last set of children’s programming, these look like they’ll be great shows. From massively prestigious pedigrees in the business to someone Amazon found through their open submission process, there’s a lot to look forward to here. Amazon Studios kids shows were the best part of the initial run of pilots for me, and I think they may be aiming to make a real push into the market with these additional titles.

Do you still miss some of NBC's beloved shows of the 1980s and 1990s? If so, you're in luck. "Saved by the Bell," "Knight Rider," "Miami Vice," "Punky Brewster" and "Airwolf" will all see new life as digital comics later in 2013.
The new stories coming in comic form will be writers from current animated series "Teen Titans," "Jackie Chan Adventures" and "Ben 10," while artists Carl Reed, Jason Johnson and Lorenzo Lizana will provide the artwork. Lion Forge Comics will create and distribute the comics via Amazon's Kindle store, Apple's iBooks and Barnes & Noble.
Why these particular shows? According to the CEO of Lion Forge, David Steward cited the programs' "hugely popular characters such as Crockett and Tubbs, Zack Morris and Punky Brewster to highly stylized music and clothing choices."

Chinese Zodiac (2012) Action superstar Jackie Chan’s last foray into the cinematic world of death-defying stunts is sure to rub a number of his long-time fans the wrong way. Instead of going back to basics, Chan goes completely over-the-top. Unfortunately, the film tends to suffer as a result. Chan stars as Jc, a worldly adventurer who is known for his ability to find and retrieve rare artifacts from around the globe. His latest mission is to recover a number of relics stolen from the Old Summer Palace years ago. Chan’s excursion takes him to a number of exotic locales, which allows for a number of goofy action-packed set pieces. Sadly, the story driving these confrontations feels like an unproduced episode of “Jackie Chan Adventures.” While Chan does participate in a few cool fights towards the end of the feature, those of you hoping for an old school Jackie Chan...

Known to adults as Bender in Futurama and tweens as Dr. Drakken in Kim Possible, John Dimaggio takes an iconic step forward as the voice of The Joker, the pivotal villain in Batman: Under the Red Hood.
