- After his father Bhaskar Balwant Mahajan loses his mental balance, Shrikant and his mother live a poor lifestyle near Sundernagar, which is managed and looked after by kind-hearted nobleman Mansinghrao Jagirdar. He relocates for further studies, meets a young woman, Pooja, who suffers from anxiety neurosis, and they fall in love. He arranges to get her hired as a teacher in the school in his village, and she relocates to live in their house. Shortly after her arrival, she starts to behave strangely, has hallucinations, often passes out, and at times refuses to recognize Shrikant and claims that she is already married. Shrikant arranges for her to be medically treated, and the doctor's prognosis does not look promising. - Kamal attempts suicide after her aunt wants to sell her. She is saved by Raosaheb Jagirdar, whom she marries. Kamal finds that Raosaheb was already married to Radha for 10 years and she has filed for divorce. Raosaheb kills Radha, then kills Kamal when she discovers the body. Years later Pooja, studying in a hostel, gets hallucinations related to Kamal. Shree, who loves Pooja, gets job of teacher in his village and also recommends Pooja for same. Upon reaching the village, Pooja starts seeing for real the things she had been hallucinating. Shree, who's close to Raosaheb, wants to introduce Pooja to him, but Raosaheb notices her behavior like Kamal and wants her dead.—alex.mjacko@gmail.com
