Excellent Time lapse segments
fredaron2 January 2002
A beautiful mix of time lapse, insect education, and humor. The lack of narration is wonderful. Kids enjoyed it as well, and we watched several segments a second time. It follows a day in a forest/desert area, and the various insects and small animals living there. I've seen hundreds of nature documentaries, this is by far the best.

Bugs with a rockin soundtrack...
stilly_boy9 April 2005
This movie starts like a meadow scene, but zooms in and stays zoomed in until it is finished. A mixture of Classical music (LOVE THAT CENTIPEDE SCENE WITH THE DRUMS!) and insects in a way that you can not always see in day to day life. This movie is HARDCORE! If you do not like insect movies because of the monotone of the narrator, that is not a problem here because this movie let's the music narrate it. The only time you here a voice is at the beginning. It lasts for a few seconds and then it is off for the rest of the movie... I wish it were available on DVD. Watch it with the kids and you will not regret it.

BTW, my favorite movies are horror and action. Movies like this I hardly ever watch, but THIS is an exception.

The most incredible nature film I've ever seen!
brierboy7 December 2003
Microcosmos has to be seen to be believed! It's a film about bugs -- it only shows insects, super close-up, in their environment, doing what they do... but that doesn't even begin to explain it. Seeing their behavior, and how closely it resembles certain human struggles... and the filming of this movie is incredible. Let's just call it the "Winged Migration" of the insect world. See it, trust me!!
