Toilet humor, literally!
soulrisen10 February 2008
Yvon of the Yukon, a animated kids series based in the Yukon arctic, to sum it all up, it's Yvon's different encounters and struggles to adapt to regular life after being frozen for a century and then defrosted by urine. Yup dog urine, this may of just hinted that this TV show has a TON of toilet humor, literally. Because Yvon's a Frenchman from the 1700s, he has absolutely no sense of hygiene, and that's not saying the town that he lives in isn't disgusting as well, I guess whether you like the series or not really depends if you find what some people find disgusting funny, like farts, dung, dog dung, urine, sweaty underwear, it basically encloses every sorts of unhygienic practice you could think of into one package. While watching Yvon of the Yukon as a youth, I found some episodes to be pretty funny and entertaining, his outrageous ways while tieing in some weird but funny plot always brings out some good Ole laughs. It's a pretty original Canadian TV show and I do recommend it lots!

Fun!

This is a good Canadian animated series. Kid friendly for the most part but not just for kids if you catch my drift. Lots of good stories and jokes that parents will like too. It won't fry or numb your brain like a lot of the other toons out there. Solid entertainment. Good animation too, a well done show over all.

Funny Youth Show

This is a funny enough show for young people. I don't know what the other reviewer (who said there was an off screen child execution on the show) is talking about but I haven't seen anything like that in any of the episodes we have seen. That's not to say it didn't happen, I just haven't seen anything inappropriate or overly scary for kids in the episodes that we have watched so far. It seems harmless enough.

It has some good jokes, it won't drive parents or adult viewers crazy because it has stuff for everyone, the animation is good quality especially compared to some other Canadian animated series that are out there, and the voice work is decent.

Horrible Horrible Show.
IHATEFRENCH_619 August 2005
The only comedy in this show is well "potty talk". They can't go at least 2 minutes without bringing in something incredibly gross. Why do they need to show Yvons behind all the time? It doesn't really have anything to do with the story. Oh and the king Louis drawing is really gross. Back to the potty thing. If this show is for kids, why's it always bring up things like glutios maximus and dung or those words that disquise the true meaning of what It really is. Horrible show. I don't even really see how it ever got a contract for TV. Oh yeah, YTV puts on any show, Even if its stupider than birds playing baseball. To sum it up if I was going to rate this show I would give it a negative 3. Why? Because It is stupid and pointless.

Canaduhian Cartoon
ThunderKing620 March 2021
YOTY was a cool chilled show.

It was nothing serious. IT was pure fun and relaxtainment (Relax and Entertainment). Yvon and cast are witty and fun to engage with.

The animation was perfect. Stories were goofy. Theme Song was iCONIC.

Overall an underrated Canaduhian Cartoon.

What can be learned? You can learn about Canadian culture.

Verdict: Relaxtainment
