The first two LittleBigPlanet games received periodic downloadable content not just in the form of alternate costumes for Sackboy, but the occasional new pack of preset levels to play through and collect new items for user-made levels. Now, LittleBigPlanet 3 gets its first full level pack today in the form of The Journey Home, a story set after the main game’s conclusion that looks to provide some nostalgic fun for longtime fans of the series.
The pack’s story will see Sackboy and the game’s new playable characters OddSock, Swoop, and Toggle attempt to return to Sackboy’s home planet of Craftworld, and will see the return of familiar NPCs from previous games, such as The King and Larry Da Vinci, along with worlds from the first two games updated to take advantage of LittleBigPlanet 3‘s new characters and mechanics. Who do you believe, Lisa Vanderpump or Brandi Glanville? The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills traveled to Puerto Rico on Monday's episode, but even the turquoise waters couldn't wash away the stink that was created when Glanville decided to tell Kyle Richards exactly what kind of "friend" Vanderpump had been to her. Chicago – Steven Spielberg’s “War Horse” is a well-intentioned and well-made film that nonetheless comes off as a major disappointment both in the context of the filmography of one of our most important filmmakers and the potential of the storytelling here. It’s a technically strong film and so its strengths are amplified by HD and the Blu-ray includes a healthy quantity of special features but the movie is a disappointment.
Rating: 3.0/5.0
“War Horse” plays almost as if Spielberg is answering the critics who claim he can be too maudlin and overly sentimental with a film that Really fits both those criticisms. “War Horse” is an old-fashioned piece with remarkable technical qualities that still feels about as flat as a TV movie of the week when it comes to character, subtlety, and overall purpose. It’s a beautiful movie that never stirs the soul as much as one may admire the people who made it.

War Horse Steven Spielberg's multi-Academy Award nominated adaptation of the young adult novel tells the horror story of World War I through a horse's eyes, and even though it's not the grisly affair Saving Private Ryan was (the movie is PG-13), it doesn't shy away from the unspeakable atrocities war brings. In a nutshell, the story follows Joey the horse from life on a farm with his beloved country-boy owner Albert, to the hardships endured in service of the British cavalry. Will boy and horse ever reunite? This is a Spielberg movie, after all, so make sure you've got the Kleenex handy. Extras: "War Horse: The Look" featurette (DVD); "War Horse: The Journey Home," "An Extra's Point of View" (DVD/Bd combo pack); a 4-disc pack includes...

The Movie Pool whispers to the War Horse Blu-ray!
The Set-up
The perils of World War I takes a horse on a remarkable journey, where he touches the lives of a number of people. Based on the novel and Broadway play.
Directed by Steven Spielberg
The Delivery
War Horse was lost in the crush of epics and indie favorites in late 2011, but its release on Blu-ray will likely give it the recognition it deserves. It seems odd that a Steven Spielberg film was not treated with more fanfare, and perhaps that is because this is not a typical Spielberg picture.
The man who brought us box office hits like Jaws, Raiders, and Jurassic Park has matured with time, and with him his approach to moviemaking. War Horse does not exactly fit the expected Spielberg formula: it is neither a summer blockbuster or an epic tale of the human spirit conquering long odds.

Katy Perry and Russell Brand were together on a brunch run yesterday in La. Russell went to the meal with a copy of the book The Journey Home: Autobiography of an American Swami, which seems like a perfect pick for the star following his and Katy's traditional Hindu wedding. He and Katy are back to their West Coast dining routine following a whirlwind few weeks of travel. They married in India and were off to the Maldives for their honeymoon, next making a stop in Spain for MTV Europe's Music Awards. Katy then crisscrossed the Atlantic so she could perform at NYC's Victoria's Secret show before joining Russell in London to make promotional stops for her new perfume, Purr - then she made one last quick cameo in the Big Apple. The duo have something to celebrate while at home today, as Russell was just cleared of assault charges...

London, Oct 17 – Comedian Russell Brand has apparently been seeking some spiritual guidance – and possibly wedding day advice – from his Krishna guru.
Brand, 35, who is engaged to marry Katy Perry, was pictured outside NPR – National Public Radio – in Los Angeles with Gaudiya Vaishnava guru Radhanath Swami, reports the Daily Mail.
The 49-year-old guru met up with Brand as he appeared on radio to talk about his book, The Journey Home: Autobiography of an American Swami, which has just been published as a paper back.
It certainly proved to be an interesting read for one man who was engrossed.

It’s been such a disappointing movie year so far, seemingly all sequels and reboots and remakes and even ostensibly original stories with no originality, no heart, no soul, no class, no distinction, no nuthin’. And so it seemed like a good thing not to get one’s hopes up too much for Toy Story 3, because how long can Pixar’s streak of genius and spirit and wonder last? I’d like to think forever, of course. But could they pull it off not once, not twice, but three times with the contents of Andy’s toybox, even after the lovely, trenchant brilliance of such films as Up, Wall-e, Ratatouille, and The Incredibles? Because, too, the disillusionment of Cars is forever in the back of my mind, a reminder that even Pixar isn’t perfect. And, you know, I hate to say it, but there is a little niggling...
