The film was made on a budget of £90,000, a very small sum for a feature-length movie in 1967.
This was the first film to be directed by Robert Fuest, and also the first to be designed by Fuest's erstwhile colleague in ITV's design department, Brian Eatwell.
It won an award at the Edinburgh Film Festival.
