Anyways, as far as I remember; "Morelia" was the FIRST Mexican-American telenovela produced for Televisa. It had the 5 p.m. schedule so it was destined to failure. Why? That's the time for mediocre novelas that do not have a huge audience.
The Latin boom had a lot to do.
To the surprise of many, "Morelia" was a success and started a brand new manner of producing novelas: co-producing them with USA. Then many future novelas were set in Miami, had some actresses from Univision, and more characteristics.
Alpha Acosta was a likable girl with sexy eyes, big breasts, red hair, and a funny accent. She was heavily criticized for her poor acting skills and you could say so because she didn't look "secure" in her role. Still, I think she did a very fine job. Sometimes Mexican t.v. critics are mean.
Arturo Peniche knows perfectly how to display the good guy and that everybody seem to love.
The story was weak but entertaining. "Morelia" had a regular success overall but it paved the way for many others of it's kind.
Oh, Christian Castro's theme for the novela was good. Underrated.
