This is a Hong Kong horror flick, with multiple stories all surrounding a mysterious mirror, which belonged to a 16th century courtesan in ancient China.
This movie is set in a more serious tone versus the popular horror movies with the comedic touch that is so popular in Hong Kong. There are some effective scares here and there - anything involving a haunted mirror will definitely serve up some good hair-raising moments.
The acting was pretty good and the plot is fairly fast-paced. But, there is much gloom and doom in the movie, with some bummer moments and irredeemable scenes. Would have preferred more humor and surprises in the movie.
