Sex & Nudity

  • Nothing A- okay
  • some romantic themes (most of which are removed from shortened versions, but are still implied) and some slight potty humour (i.e. "ugh, that's not cake!" or "wait, does he wear pants?"), but no sex or nudity whatsoever.
  • None. This is a G-rated picture.
  • None.

Violence & Gore

  • some action scenes and natural disasters are occasional in the franchise, though comparing this movie to the series, it does still have action as well as being way more realistic.
  • Some action scenes/peril, danger and rude behaviour by Diesel 10. Diesel 10 tries to throw a character down from a high collapsing viaduct, throw two characters into a fiery scrapyard furnace and tries to collapse a shed full of engines. however; he fails to each time.
  • Diesel threatens to "dominate" Thomas and "destroy" Lady.

Profanity

  • None. This is a G-rated picture.
  • Mild name calling. (Puffball, Splodge, etc.) No swearing involved.
  • "Shut Up, Pinchy!" is said once.

Alcohol, Drugs & Smoking

  • Very brief smoking by an adult in the background of one scene.

Frightening & Intense Scenes

  • Some Intense Scenes
  • very young sensitive children may be frightened by the large evil diesels in this movie and there's some scenes in which they put characters in danger and they narrowly survive.
  • there are some dark foggy scenes at nighttime which may be frightening to some, such as a junkyard with dead, faceless rusty engines in the scrap. and a scene which shows bats flying off a tree, a door opening and slamming itself, an owl hooting and a spooky talking tumbleweed.
  • there are some scary/dark deleted scenes, but most of the scariest things in the movie are cut from the theatrical version.
  • comparing this movie to the series, it is not afraid to attempt leaning closer into some slightly darker elements but nothing too dark.
  • A character has one or two nightmare visions in one scene. (Nothing too frightening.) Diesel 10 has a claw and he may scare toddlers with it!
  • Overall, a great family film for all ages.

Spoilers

The Parents Guide items below may give away important plot points.

Profanity

  • Mr. Conductor extends his middle finger to reach for a pair of pliers in the scene where Diesel 10 holds him over a bridge. This may come off to some audiences as him flipping off. However, in the scene, he's only trying to reach the scissors, and any possible vulgarity from that gesture was not intentional.
