Sex & Nudity

  • The female protagonist, Jewel, is a sexually manipulative young woman who sleeps with several men to persuade them to do what she wants (including crimes). There are several sex scenes with no graphic nudity but explicit movements and sounds. Throughout the film the camera constantly lingers on the scantily-dressed Jewel, who shows a lot of skin, like in a highly sexualized car wash scene.
  • We then see Father Jimmy getting all hot and bothered from Charlie describing the above scene, and then Randy suggestively tell Charlie, "You should see what she does with my hose."
  • As Carl keeps changing his story of Jewel showing up at his place for a barbeque, we see her in various differing but revealing and/or skimpy outfits, and then her putting a beer bottle neck into her mouth and pulling off the cap with her teeth. He then imagines Jewel taking off his wife's sweater and then seductively playing with her hair. He then sees his wife lying down on some lawn furniture and motioning for Jewel and then Carl to join her.
  • Burmeister comments that someone has to do something other than just "chasing p*ssy" (and an older woman next to him in a bingo hall knowingly smiles).
  • Mad that Randy doesn't have a car, Utah chides him, asking if he thought he was going to "get laid" on a bus or that he was going to give some "chick" "the f*cking monster" (penis) on a bus.
  • Jewel shows varying amounts of cleavage throughout the film in the various outfits that she wears (many of which are often rather low-cut). She also occasionally shows varying amounts of her bare thighs in her short dresses, and in one scene, she adjusts her breasts and lowers her dress off her shoulder to better attract Randy.
  • Burmeister makes a comment to Randy about Jewel being "good in the sack" and then adds that when you get to be his age, you like hearing about good sex (which he acts out by thrusting his hips into the air while positioning his hands as if holding onto an imaginary woman). He then asks if she has a nice ass.
  • A song has lines about a woman having a sexy body (that plays during a sex scene) and wanting to know that woman better.
  • Randy rescues Jewel from being raped.
  • Later, she squeezes her breasts together Then there is some sexual dialog using the "f" word.
  • Then an erotic sex scene with no nudity, but lots of movement and moaning.
  • Jewel performs oral sex on Randy.
  • An upskirt panty scene.
  • In a quick scene segment, the couple are having sex about 5 to 6 times.
  • Jewel is seen whipping Carl with a whip.
  • The detective and Jewel are in the bed after having sex, and he tells Father Jimmy that they had sex.

Violence & Gore

  • While most of the violence in the movie is darkly comedic in tone, there is an attempted rape scene which is played seriously (see Frightening & Intense scenes).
  • Threatening with guns and many shots fired.
  • A man is shot in the shoulder;
  • We see a corpse being zipped up in a body bag.
  • A woman slaps a man ; a man slaps a woman
  • A man tries to rape a woman but she kicks him in the groin, knocking him into a shelf;
  • the man is all bloody and dies when an appliance falls on his head.
  • A man jumps out of a window.
  • A TV falls from the back of a car and smashes to pieces upon hitting the road.
  • A man shows up and holds a shotgun and machine gun on three men. A gun battle then breaks out between that man and the men, with many, many shots being fired. Both men end up being struck in the arms (with some blood), as the song "YMCA" plays on the soundtrack (thus lightening the mood of the scene).
  • There is a conflict in the bar and two guns are pulled, a gun shot is heard, and Utah is on the floor with blood flowing everywhere.
  • At the very end of the movie, Carl gets a dumpster dropped on him.

Profanity

  • "F*ck you," "Get the f*ck over here," "Shut your f*cking mouth," "Sh*tfaced," "Piece of sh*t," "You're full of sh*t," "Too bad you're such a sh*t," "Chicken sh*t," "Bullsh*t," "Jerk," "Shut up," "Freakin,'" "Busy ass," "You're a sick puppy," "You lucky stiff," "Bitch," "Piece of slime," "Screw you," "Crappy," "Scum" and "Homos."
  • 10-15 f words, more than 50 uses of the s word.

Alcohol, Drugs & Smoking

  • Barrister smokes cigars in several scenes, while various miscellaneous/background characters smoke in others. In addition, Jewel asks if Randy has a smoke for her, but he doesn't. She then says that it's okay since she's trying to cut down anyway.
  • Alcohol is used constantly throughout the flim.

Frightening & Intense Scenes

  • Although this is a comedy there are murders and a rape scene. The main character Jewel gets targeted throughout the movie by men and vulnerable to danger. Another rape scene includes a police officer with a man in a sexual position which potrays sexual assault. Viewer discretion is advised
  • In an "Oh no, he's gonna be caught" scene, Randy tries to hide when the owner of the home he's robbing unexpectedly returns home early.

Spoilers

The Parents Guide items below may give away important plot points.

Violence & Gore

  • There's a violent shootout in a house near the end, between two men. Lots of shots are fired, and the house is shot up. One man shoots the other, some blood is seen on him, and he slumps backward. The man prepares to shoot a third man, but a woman shoots him (bullet impact seen), and he falls over and dies.

Frightening & Intense Scenes

  • There is an attempted rape scene. A man forces a woman on a bed despite her protests, slaps her (seemingly knocking her unconscious) and starts to undress her. The woman then hits him; the man falls, hurts his head and dies. While his death is darkly comedic in tone, the assault is played seriously.
