Happy Friday, fiends, and welcome back for the ninth day of Daily Dead’s 2017 Holiday Gift Guide. For today, we’re taking a look at a variety of horror-themed t-shirts and other apparel from a variety of online retailers, including Cavity Colors, Last Exit to Nowhere, Fright Rags, Terror Threads, T-Shirt Bordello, Tee Fury, Horror Merch Store, BeastWreck, Electric Zombie, Ript Apparel, The Monster Store, and Rock-n-Horror.
And just like yesterday’s Hgg featuring over 100 enamel pins, below only represents a fraction of each website’s inventory, so I do recommend poking around because you can find some really fun gifts for this holiday season.
Also, Daily Dead has once again put together some really cool Holiday Gift Guide prize packs this year, and for your chance to win one, just send an email to contest@dailydead.com with “Holiday Gift Guide” in the subject line and be sure to...

Welcome back, readers, for another installment of Daily Dead’s 2017 Holiday Gift Guide! For day eight, we are going all in on enamel pins, simply because there are so many amazing designs out there and it was hard to narrow down the list. That being said, here’s a list of over 100 horror and sci-fi themed enamel pins that we discovered online, and we guarantee there’s absolutely something for every genre fan out there, so if you need some stocking stuffer or holiday gift ideas, look no further!
Do keep in mind that in most cases, what you see below is only a partial listing of each site’s inventory, so I recommend digging around each online store for all kinds of goodies, because there are some truly amazing enamel pin designs out there (I could have easily done a list of 200, but my sanity won out).

We all remember the scene, right?
In the final moments of Friday the 13th, we see Alice resting in a canoe on the lake, having just survived the entire film. Calming music kicks in, assuring us that everything will now be alright. After all, Mrs. Voorhees was beheaded and there’s no other threats present. Or is there?
Suddenly, a deformed Jason Voorhees appears from nowhere and pulls young Alice under the water, giving us our first glimpse at the horror icon in action. A brilliant jump scare and all around great scene, it’s a moment that’s probably etched into the minds of most fans and now, artist Scott Hopko has decided to pay tribute to it with this awesome new alternate poster for the film. Like Friday the 13th itself, though, it also comes with a little surprise – see if you can spot it on the first...

Script pages posted by Damian Shannon and Mark Swift have revealed that the canned Friday the 13th sequel was going to be set in the winter, a first for the legendary horror franchise.
This being Friday the 13th, Shannon and Swift decided to strike while the iron is hot to post four pages from the scrapped script, confirming that Paramount’s axed reboot, one that was initially hatched as a continuation of the 2009 remake, would have taken place in the winter season, when Camp Crystal Lake was frozen solid. Now how’s that for a haunting visual?
Other pertinent details include a scene in which Jason Voorhees ventures out onto the frozen Crystal Lake while hunting a rather unfortunate hockey player, which was surely meant to be the first of many blood-curdling kills involving the iconic, masked killer. What’s more, Shannon and Swift envisioned a Friday the 13th sequel...

Had things panned out differently, 2017 would have gone down as a banner year for Jason Voorhees.
With the launch of Gun Media and IllFonic’s electrifying survival horror game, the stage was set for Paramount to resurrect Friday the 13th. But sadly, it wasn’t to be.
After years spent percolating on the fringes of development, during which time it was delayed on three separate occasions, the studio decided to cut its losses and scrap the Friday the 13th reboot (sorry, Friday the 13th: Camp Blood – The Death of Jason Voorhees) entirely. And so, another chance goes begging for Jason Voorhees and the folks of Camp Crystal Lake, but this being Friday the 13th of October, filmmaker Nick Merola has taken matters into his own hands to produce a clever, wonderfully violent trailer.
First spotted by Bloody Disgusting, this is the kind of faux trailer that fans have been crying out for,...

Even though we have an overabundance of them these days, the fact of the matter is that remakes are nothing new in Hollywood and have been around for nearly as long as the film industry itself. Still, there’s no denying how much they’ve been flooding the market as of late, with the horror genre not being exempt from this practice. Quite frankly, I think it’s this genre that we have to thank for the current trend, but that’s a discussion for another day.
With Friday the 13th being one of the most popular horror franchises in cinematic history, it comes as no surprise that it hasn’t been an exception to the rule. In addition to being remade back in 2009, yet another restart was planned not long ago, but that’s since been derailed. And more unfortunate is that the entire franchise currently remains in limbo due to a legal battle.

Patrick Stewart is impressive as a white supremacist in a genuinely shocking horror-thriller about a punk band’s battle with neo-Nazis
In 2013’s ultra-low-budget eye-opener Blue Ruin, writer-director Jeremy Saulnier wondered what a revenge thriller would look like if most of the movie took place in the sticky aftermath of vengeance. Now, in this only marginally less stripped-down follow-up, Saulnier takes a box cutter to the conventions of the siege/slasher genre, creating a gruelling, gutsy suspense ride that swaps the marooned vistas of Blue Ruin for the claustrophobic confines of a rural roadhouse in which our punk rocker antiheroes are trapped.
The set-up finds hardcore Arlington band the Ain’t Rights losing their shirts on an end-of-road tour from which they can’t even afford the petrol home. Tempted by a matinee payday playing to the backwater boots and braces crowd in a remote Oregon dive, the band head...

In this morning's round-up, we have a Q&A with Casper Van Dien from the supernatural horror film, June. Also: details on Dracula's prop auction, XLrator Media's 24 Hour Rental, a video tribute to Friday the 13th Part VIII called "Voorhees Stomp", a new poster for The Hexecutioners, and release details for Krampus: The Reckoning.
Casper Van Dien Q&A: "June tells the story of nine-year-old June (Brice) who has been shuffled in and out of foster homes for years. And though she tries to be good, no matter where she goes, a trail of chaos and terror seems to follow. It’s only when June is sent to live with a new couple, Lily (Pratt) and Dave (Van Dien), that it looks as if things might finally work out. Except this innocent child with the face of an angel is possessed by an ancient, malevolent entity that has hijacked her soul.

Murderous security robots killed them at the mall, while a vengeful mother unleashed her rage upon them at summer camp. A weekly television series following the exploits of Jason Voorhees – how the hell is that supposed to work? The producers appear to have an idea for how to adapt Friday the 13th into a TV show, but I think I might have a few better ideas for how to transform Jason from horror icon to TV star.
The remakes, reboots, reimaginings, sequels, prequels, premakes, adaptations, and spin-offs that rule the big screen are taking over the airwaves like never before.
For horror fans alone "Bates Motel", "Hannibal", "From Dusk Till Dawn", and "Teen Wolf" have been turned into weekly TV shows, and soon "Scream", "Constantine", "12 Monkeys", a series based on the box office stinker Legion, and, yes, "Friday the 13th" will add to the fray.
As was announced recently, a new attempt at transforming Friday the 13th into a weekly hour-long series is in the works. Unlike the name-only late 80s series,...

Finally the trailer is here for Nightfall Pictures and Twisted Illusions' new anthology film Hi-8 (which stands for Horror. Independent. 8 Filmmakers), and we we have it here for you dripping with indie horror goodness.
From the Press Release
Hi-8 is produced by Brad Sykes, Josephina Sykes, and Tim Ritter. The directors’ lineup is Tim Ritter (Truth or Dare), Brad Sykes (Camp Blood), Marcus Koch (100 Tears), Ron Bonk (The Vicious Sweet), Donald Farmer (Savage Vengeance), Todd Sheets (Zombie Bloodbath), Chris Seaver (Filthy McNasty), and Tony Masiello (Sov: The True Independents).
Producer Brad Sykes got the idea for the anthology while working on Srs Cinema’s upcoming VHS/DVD release of his feature The Pact, which was shot on the Hi-8 format back in 1995 while Sykes was still a college student. He missed those days of carefree filmmaking and approached Tim Ritter with the idea, who already had the Hi-8 title and concept ready to go.

“You’re all doomed!” Things have been quiet at Camp Crystal Lake of late, but that doesn’t mean that we can’t delve high-definition into the horrors that have happened in the past. A Blu-ray set is being released on Friday the 13th that will bring out seven of the films for the first time on Blu-ray but it may also offer some aggravation to some Jason Voorhees fans. Camp Crystal Lake (aka Camp Blood) opened in 1980 and the hockey mask horror franchise was born and eleven sequels followed. This set brings all twelve films together for the first time. The set contains Friday the 13th (1980), Friday the 13th Part II (1981), Friday the 13th Part III (1982), Friday...

There are, at the time of this writing, ten Friday the 13th movies, one remake (another in production) and one featuring Freddy Kruger. The plot of every movie follows the same construct: a group of really dumb ass kids go into the woods for some nookie and recreational drugs when they get lost and encounter a seemingly unstoppable and mute mongoloid who wears a hockey mask and goes by the name of Jason Voorhees, who then proceeds to stalk and kill them one by one. (The exceptions being Part 1, where Jason’s mother does the killings, Part 5, where a copycat killer goes berserk and Part 9 where Jason’s soul is transferred to whoever eats his heart.) While the movies do feature bucket loads of gore and an ample amount of T & A and debauchery, the Friday the 13th series (and slasher films in general) follow the rules of Christianity and the Bible very closely.

Linnea Quigley is a horror icon. When she played Trash in “Return of the Living Dead”, she was the epitome of sleazy punk rock sex appeal. You wanted to do dirty things to her, but you were also afraid to touch her, both because you don’t know where she’s been, but also because she might punch you in the face with brass knuckles. When you’ve been in as many low and no budget films as Quigley, a few are bound to fall through the cracks. Now one of her lost movies will finally see the light of day. Appropriately called “Scream Queen”, the film, written and directed by Brad Sykes (“Camp Blood”), was shot more than a decade ago. On September 15, 2012, the film will screen at the Scare-a-Cuse Horror and Sci-Fi Fan Convention in Syracuse. A DVD release, packed with extras, will follow later this year. Here...

When talking about horror scream queens, few names rank higher on the list of the greatest than Linnea Quigley. So when word got out that a Quigley film that was shot over a decade ago is premiering in September, we had to check it out.
Fittingly entitled Scream Queen, the film stars Quigley and was written and directed by Brad Sykes. It will be premiering on September 15, 2012, at the Syracuse Horror and More Film Festival, part of the Scare-a-Cuse Horror and Sci-Fi Fan Convention in Verona, NY. The film will also be receiving an extras-packed DVD release from Leo Films later this year.

The first images for Telespan 2000, Telecinco Cinema, and Film Factory's latest Spanish slasher flick After Party have arrived, and you'll find them right here free of any arduous clean-up or sleeping freeloaders that you'll find behind your couch.
A smart genre shocker, Miguel Larraya's After Party stars Luis Hernandez (Three Steps Above the Sky) and Ursula Corbero (Paranormal Experience 3D). The screenplay, by Larraya and Fernando Sancristobal, focuses on a teen TV idol and three girls who wake up after a wild party to find themselves trapped in the house. He receives cell phone vids of the real-time deaths of other party revelers. But things may not be quite how they seem.

Jason Voorhees is a household name, there’s no arguing. Everyone may be familiar with the summer camp slasher’s iconic look as far as the hockey mask goes, but it’s a lot harder to find a definitive consensus on Mr. Voorhees’ most successful incarnation. It changes as often as the weather, and much more dramatically, to boot.

Yippe! Another new indie slasher is in production, and this one is called After Party. It’s directed by Miguel Larraya.
Martín is the young male lead in a successful television series, Camp Blood, and one of the biggest teenage idols of the moment. He has no qualms about using his fame to score with girls and has earned a reputation as a heartbreaker. One morning he wakes and finds that he is locked inside a large house after a wild party there the night before. Trapped along with him are three girls with whom he had different encounters the night before.
Via a cell phone, from which they cannot make calls, they receive various videos. As they see them they discover that they are not the only ones locked in the house. A friend of the girls died at the party the night before and her body may still be there.

The Movie: 'Friday the 13th' (1980)
The Scene: Just when they thought it was safe to reopen Camp Blood Camp Crystal Lake, one very angry mother puts the brakes on that idea ... with a vengeance. One by one, this fresh batch of camp counselors meet bloody ends that really put a damper on an otherwise potentially fun summer. Alice, arguably the most chaste of the teens, tangles with Mrs. Voorhees --who is really not letting this whole "horny, negligent counselors caused my son's death" thing go -- and manages to divorce her head from her shoulders. Tired, broken, and on the brink of a complete mental breakdown, Alice seeks solace by floating on the lake all night in a canoe. Just as morning breaks, and sanity seems to be returning to her life, a deformed boy leaps out of the lake and pulls her under the water.
