Entertaining porn with different femmes for a change
lor_23 November 2010
Eschewing the sameness of '70s porn, where a talent pool on either coast was cast over & over giving the films an unfortunate sameness, BLAZING ZIPPERS stars two enthusiastic if plain-looking actresses who never made much of a career for themselves.

Title is obviously a nod to Mel Brooks, but instead of a Western we have a modern girl played by Melissa Jennings/Lisa Sue Corey who literally dreams of a cowboy lover.

These dreams are of the vivid XXX variety, imaginatively directed by one Boots McCoy. They include rape and bondage fantasies, and all sorts of mildly kinky material. Her shrink, another comedy role by John Seeman, tells her to actually seek out a dreamboat cowpoke for real, so Melissa heads for a small town to work as a waitress and wait for the right man to come along.

Fellow waitress Billie Jo (sympathetically played by Anne Beaty) introduces her to lesbian sex on a pool table, and Melissa is ably serviced by a black handyman. Romantic climax has her trysting with a perfect cowboy out on a green field.

Stock footage of the rodeo coming to town and a parade give this cheapie the patina of being a real film. "Thus Sprach Zarathustra" is lifted from the 2001: A SPACE ODYSSEY soundtrack for background.

One reel is out of synch but otherwise the Something Weird DVD-R is acceptable.
