Happy forever?
junior-1730 January 2003
This movie is about the love story of Jorge Luis Borges and Estela Canto. He's not yet the famous writer; she's a translator. He's old; she's young and beautiful. He's insecure; she's strong. He's controlled by his mother; she has two jobs to support her family. He's methodical; she's practical. He's afraid about sex; she's looking for it. They are completely different but love is waving to them. "Un amor de Borges" goes to touch you - calm, warm and kindly.

The unknown side of a genius' soul

Warning: Spoilers
This movie shows an unknown side of the Jorge Luis Borges life. One of the greatest writers of the twentieth century. We can see the story of a truncated romance between Borges and Estela Canto (writer too)and the contact points with his literature. Especially with the short story "El Aleph", that was dedicated for Estela. You must see this picture for three reasons: the extraordinary performance of Jean Pierre Noher, (an detailed reproduction of any gesture and voice inflexion of Borges), the melancholic autumnal atmosphere that involves the whole story, and the beautiful Ines Sastre (Estela). A great Argentine movie of the best Argentine writer and his sad life.
