The Greatest thing since sliced bread
tom cody11 January 2002
This TV show was the greatest thing to happen to TV; be it network, cable or otherwise! This show was everything I am about, and every fun-loving American should spend their Saturday nights like this. The premise was kind of like "Who's Line is it, Anyway?". There was a girls' team and a guys' team, and there were points given out. But the points didn't really mean anything, because the prizes didn't mean anything either. I feel like throwing back a couple of pints and belting out my best "Come on Eileen" just thinking about this treasure of a show that never should have been taken off the air!

So sad it had to go...

Why was this show canceled? The premise was perfect: Get together some quasi-celebrities and stick them in a gender war. The prizes? The stuff you would find on infomercials that if the celebs really wanted, they would probably already have! It was brilliant! The last episode I saw was more Zappa than one could handle, with not just Ahmed and the Dweez, but Moon as well! One of the most interesting concepts was the fact that the band's name changed every week!

Happy Hour Rocks!

This show is great! I have never seen such an original music/variety/game show in a very long time. I would try to describe it more, but the show really defies explanation. The Zappa's, especially Ahmet, really keep the show moving. And the addition of displaying the lyrics for every song played is sheer brilliance! Long live Happy Hour!

Why it left the air
Cnvrtbl44231 March 2006
Actually, the reason the show dropped off the face of the earth so quickly and without notice has to do with the fact that the name "Happy Hour" was already owned by NASCAR. If you did a search on the USA website right after the show disappeared you would have found absolutely nothing! It's as if it never existed. So much for those high powered lawyers.

I personally loved the show and am glad I was able to get some episodes recorded and kept. It has to be one of the most original shows I have seen. We would invite the neighbors over, have drinks, and split up as teams and play along with the show.

What a scream!!!! We totally miss it!!!

Wild, twisted hour of madness

I have to say that I have never seen a show quite like this. It's great to see actors, singers, and other personalities being themselves instead of a role and really letting loose. It's like being at a celeb party without all the drugs.

And to top that off, you have the Zappas. They are the craziest, wackiest of co-host ever on a game-show.

I love it.

If only all "game shows" were this wonderful the world would be a better place. I think the only thing that would make this zany show any better is if I was there with Ahmet (meow!!) Anyhow, if you like wild parties and kareoke tunes, great music accompanied with great stars and no rules games, well this is the show for you! All I can say is that this show rules and is funny to boot! It makes my Saturday nights, that is fo' shore. If I could get a fan club started, well, I would. Check it out, you've never seen anything like it!

why this show was canceled
hunterdu10 October 2000
Why was this show cancelled you ask? Could it be that the comment makers here on this site pretty much made up its ENTIRE viewing audience. It was given the best lead in program a cable show could have (a show that was, is, has has continuously been the highest rated cable show every week), and yet the droppoff in viewers from its lead-in to the show itself was steeper than Mount Everest. Perhaps because it was the most brain dead show ever created and viewers finally showed some sense to stay away.
