You look a little sweaty!

This is fun stuff. You got Buck Adams, who seems to have actual fight experience as a rod- raged sex-crazed animal. Stunning realism, unusual for the laid-back cowboy, he heh. Karen Summer's visible landing strip is like a female murkin. Jerry Butler as an earnest pretty boy fighter. Wish I quizzed him about this when we spoke some time ago. Holmes is...Holmes, AIDS notwithstanding.

Classic smut like this is fun. They do just enough to put this across as a "real movie" with fine porn acting and doing their own stunts as well as screwing. Shot directly on video. It wouldn't look right any other way.

Embarrassing

Porn parodies eventually caught on and made plenry of moolah as stolen intellectual property in subsequent decades. This very early example is poor in all categories, more an ego trip for Buck Adams, who won a ridiculous "Best Actor" industry award in the process.

Yes, Buck makes faces, chews the scenery and provides a scene of lousy fight choreography in this chintzy, poorly photographed knock-off of the Stallone franchise. Title role goes to Jerry Butler playing the champ, goaded into a big fight with Buck, result of which is one big snore.

John Holmes, late in his career, has a hairdo that looks like a comical curly wig, as if going after Harpo Marx, and the main plotline that he is callously exploiting as manager his boy Buck by having doctor Karen Summer shoot him up with steroids is very hard to watch given Holmes' real-life issues.

Patti Rhodes directed and co-wrote (with Buck) the screenplay, using a pseudonym "Pat Roggins" to hide her tracks.
