Esperanza Calvo, leading actress and daughter of Máximo Calvo Olmedo, the director of this film, gave to Focine the only elements that were rescued from this film: seven rolls back an exhibition. Subsequently, these materials were deposited in Colombian Film Heritage Foundation.
Although Al son de las guitarras (1938) was already shot, Flores del valle (1941) is considered the first feature film with sound made in Colombia.
