Masterless criminals
hof-426 October 2011
Competent and well paced action movie, not essentially different from many other action films or TV episodes. It refers, however, to a specifically Argentine situation. At the abrupt end of the military dictatorship that began in 1976, many hired guns, torturers and assorted criminals in the military's service were left out in the open, vulnerable to retribution from their victim's families or legal action from the government (not that successive democratic governments were very successful in this respect).

Good cinematography and acting. Director Desanzo (who had a long career as a cinematographer beginning in 1967) went on to make excellent movies such as Eva Peron: The True Story (1996) and El Polaquito (2003).
