I've seen this terrible black-and-white movie at the Film-Festival of Rotterdam in 1999. Everybody in the cinema-hall either left the cinema or was asleep till the credits appeared. It really is one of the worst and most boring movies I've ever seen.

BERLIN IN BEAUTIFUL BLACK-AND-WHITE

This picture is very well photographed in black-and-white, which amounts very to the story and the two strong main characters in it. What we see is not the Berlin of all the 90's (tv)documentaries, but a city where dreams can still exist and love between two human beings prevails. This may sound corny, but the film is too intelligent for that. And there is also the wonderful music of the Penguin Cafe Orchestra.
I saw this at The International Film Festival in Rotterdam (The Netherlands). A majority of the audience could not share my enthusiasm, giving the picture only a slight above average vote.
