This movie beat the hell outta my patience
himikey23 November 2001
In the process of boring you with the wordy, rambling storyline and the complete absence of character development, it manages to enforce a few negative black stereotypes out there. At one point I was wondering if Jesse Helms co-wrote the screenplay.

What the hell was that...
poetre29 July 2003
I had no idea what was going on until the 5th or 6th time I viewed this long, dry movie. It was like a twisted Shakespearian diatribe gone horribly wrong. It was one long, twisting poetic farce with no rhyme or reason behind the characters. No depth what so ever or maybe it was so deep that I just got lost. Don't watch it.

Why?
Smplyred911 March 2006
Warning: Spoilers
This movie isn't even good enough for the $1 bin at the grocery store.

I only purchased it because Terrence Howard was in it. Guess he couldn't be too choosy about his roles during this time.

The movie in itself was hard to sit through. It seemed they were grasping at straws with a storyline. The "guys night out" had to be the most boring I've ever seen. One minute they are talking and the next reciting poetry? Even the arguments were hard to follow. Most of the acting lacked any depth.

I have no idea what they were going for with this one but they certainly missed the mark.

The worst film ever!!
dwaynebreeden9 June 2006
I could not believe it. This film was a total wast of time out of my life. The title is appropriate. Love didn't beat the hell out of me, this film did. I kept watching and watching and waiting and waiting and hoping for something, anything to happen. And nothing ever happened! Nothing!! Terrence Howard couldn't even save this lame piece of work called a film. It was dark, and confused and I didn't get who killed the girlfriend in the end. The tone and pacing of the film was supposed to be building to a dramatic climactic ending. This only served to confuse the audience because the movie just plodded along going no where. If you want pure torture, watch this film.

Forget money, I wasted time...
d1fromoh23 May 2005
This was one of the worst movies I've ever seen in my life. They said this was the man's answer to Waiting to Exhale...All I'm going to say is that we really didn't respond at all. I couldn't believe that it was actually made. The director should choose another profession, because he can't make a movie. The script wasn't good. It made no sense and was very messy. Bet movies are much better than this was, and I was horribly disappointed to see the talented actor Terrence in this bad excuse of a movie. If I could turn back the hands of time I wouldn't go back to Media Play to never buy the movie, I would just keep it wrapped sitting on the shelf, instead of wasting my time watching it.

Well-made drama about the different ways that men handle...
dwpollar29 September 2001
1st watched 9/28/2001 - 7 out of 10(Dir-Kennedy Goldsby): Well-made drama about the different ways that men handle their relationships with women. This movie basically is played out using a friendly game of dominoes as the playing field with four men discussing their approach to handling women and the rejection they have felt from them in their life. The discussion is mainly centered around one man and his current ensuing divorce and how each other man at the table either consoles, challenges or defends this man who is subject to this rejection. There is some of the women's viewpoint which is explored with some scenes with them discussing the current situation but these scenes are at a minimum. This is intended to be a man's movie about his dealing with the emotions that surround male-female relationships with very little input from 'the other side.' This in itself is very unique that a movie would focus on the male perspective to the depth that this movie does and I believe it should be given credit for this. The ending (without given away too many details) is surprising and almost puts a whodunit flavor into the movie which begs the question as to why this was done. The rest of the movie is flat-out drama but the twist in the ending seems out of character for what the movie was

trying to do(give information without answering questions). The answer(according to my perspective on the ending) was not a pleasant one but maybe realistic of the thinking of men who have been put in these positions (according to this movie) by women. Thought-provoking movie throughout despite some flaws would be benefited from many people viewing this(both men and women).

Thought provoking film about relationships...
kelly-40425 July 2006
From a unique perspective from the men for a change. I got to see what men are thinking and feeling when they experience a break-up. Stylishly written and directed by Kennedy Goldsby. There are knockout performances by Glenn Plummer as the lead... as well as a standout performance by Terrance Howard before he was "Terrance Howard" - Oscar nominated for "Hustle and Flow." I saw this film after Hustle and Flow and I can really see in Terrance's performance in this film that the director was able to capture that special something in Terrance Howard that was destined to realize. Terrance shows a fierce sensuality that I love ;) BRAVO!!!

Great movie
lbstb-219 December 2008
I seen this movie 5 years ago and I think it was one of the best unrated films of all time. If you have been in a relationship that has it up and down this is the movie for you. The soundtrack was great but it does has a few poor quality camera shot. Overall I would still give this movie a 10. Terence Howard characters is a trip. I can see why men look at things different from women and why they may have trust issue's after viewing this film. Glenn Plummer acting is excellent and so are the other co stars. If you haven't learn the true meaning of love and friendship after viewing this film then you don't need to be on the planet.

twisted but suspenseful
chalik36021 January 2002
I just checked this film out last night. My wife fell asleep on it, guess mainly because its a "guy film". This movie had an interesting approach, but the dialogue got very redundant. At one point I wasnt able to tell if the characters were trying to be poetic or what? The movie was very basic, an low-budget- BUT, I like those type of films that do not direct alot of many into special affects and props. I recommend this movie to a group mature fellas looking to just kick back and trip off of other mens thoughts.

My First Movie Credit
kimeyojdaniels4 August 2008
I Was so excited during the entire process of creating this film, I learned a lot about the movie business Paul and Kennedy Goldsby. Charles Penland is the person that brought me on board and I have to say i am very grateful, due to the fact i have the ego of a mega star, at times i became a bit of a pain to the executives on the set. But all in all it was a wonderful experience. I also have to add i learned how to deal with love in my own person relationships. Due to the dramatic message that was coming across in the film, you really don't know how you are going to act until you are placed in that position, but at least during this film i was able to look inside the circle of love from the outside...

I have to give it 2 Thumbs Up...

Redeeming Quality
fdpmovies29 October 2018
The film itself is terrible, boring, and hard to follow! HOWEVER, there is a saving grace to this movie that no one seems to notice, and a reason i gave it 10. Kristen Andreotti is the best part of this movie, and kept me watching. If anyone knows why shes the saving grace though, i congratulate you! (hint hint, i don't believe anyone recognizes her from this movie to what she's doing now, although, she looks and sounds exactly the same!)
