It’s difficult to determine precisely what genre Angelina Jolie’s upcoming movie “Without Blood” is. Based on Italian novelist Alessandro Baricco’s novel of the same name, the film follows a young girl over decades as she grabbles with the complex realities of war, trauma, and violence in an unnamed 20th-century country. So, which genre is it? A war film? A modern fable? In Variety’s piece about the upcoming film, Jolie has an answer of her own.

If you ask who the most important Western directors in history are, there are three obvious names: John Ford, Sergio Leone, and Clint Eastwood. The Western was the dominant genre in Hollywood from the 1930s to the 1960s, and Ford was the preeminent director of the genre at that time. Leone spearheaded the Spaghetti Western movement; color films set in the west, but produced in Europe, and which were more violent/less glamorous than their Hollywood counterparts. According to Leone:
"Ford, because of his European origins — as a good Irishman — has always seen the problem from a Christian point of view... his characters and protagonists always [looked] forward to a rosy, fruitful future. Whereas I see the history of the West as really the reign of violence by violence."
Eastwood began as Leone's star and then followed in his old boss' footsteps by becoming a director himself. And where Eastwood truly...

Masterfull horror story… Let’s be honest, this really sounds like a perfect job for the team behind (quite successful at the box office these days) Sinister movie! So no wonder we already have writer/director Scott Derrickson and producer Jason Blum on board for an adaptation of Stephen King‘s novella The Breathing Method.
In case you’re not so familiar with the whole thing, let me first inform you that The Breathing Method was originally published as part of 1982 anthology Different Seasons.
King’s tale is told from the point of view of Dr Emlyn McCarron, an aged attorney who, during his career at a New York law firm, gets invited by a senior partner to join him at a private men’s club. Members are greeted and served by the ubiquitous semi-sinister butler-type character.
The club and its furnishings have some mysteries of their own that are tantalizing but never fully revealed.

She's battled cancer and has multiple sclerosis, but no one seems more eager to launch Mitt Romney's next presidential campaign than his wife-maybe not even Mitt.
To hear Mitt Romney tell it, he's still not sure if he wants to run for president. Ann, his wife of 41 years, is not nearly as coy.

In an era of huge dislocations and scarce resources, fewer and fewer companies are in a position to hire lots of new people or devote big budgets to new projects as a way of moving forward. But most companies are surrounded by customers, suppliers, fans, advocates, and interested parties of all kinds who are passionate about what they do, bursting with ideas, and eager to be more involved. Why not invite them to demonstrate their creativity to you, share their best ideas with you, and collaborate to solve your toughest problems or deliver on your most promising opportunities? That's one of the great mind-flips for leaders today: The performance of your organization can draw on talented "players" who...
