The Duchess (Red's Aunt) : [reading newspaper headline] "Hotelkeeper Indicted for Manslaughter". Now that there's a real story you got for the paper, Red.
Libby Brooks : You know, if I had one story a week like that, I could retire in two years.
Red Ryder : Well, wait a minute, Libby. You're too young to talk about retiring. Now you take Buckskin there...
The Duchess (Red's Aunt) : Well, who would want him?
Buckskin Blodgett : [reaching for his hat while sprawled on the ground] Well, come here - come here...
The Duchess (Red's Aunt) : Buckskin, pick it up!
Buckskin Blodgett : Well, what do you think I've been trying to do for the last hour and a half.
[Thunder picks up Buckskin's hat with his teeth]
Buckskin Blodgett : Ah, ha, ha. Much obliged there, Thunder. Now there, there is the only real gentleman in the house.

Red Ryder : Libby, what do you hope to accomplish by staying in town?
Libby Brooks : Look, believe me, Red, it's not just... well, it's not just because of Gerry, but Frenchy Beaumont's got to be stopped.
Red Ryder : I agree with you, decent people aren't safe in this town.
Libby Brooks : Well, the only thing that I've got to fight him with is a weapon that my father left me, our newspaper.
Red Ryder : A newspaper is a mighty powerful weapon, if it's loaded with the right ammunition. Unfortunately, we don't have the ammunition yet.
