Famous A.Dumas'novel with a different approach
safonag24 May 2006
The cynical expression of the original play by the Spanish writer Enrique Jardiel Poncela is adapted for the screen by the same author and Mugica's help, its director, obtaining a lighted overcome (with a romantic touch) of the well-known plot. Farce on "La dame aux camellias" - París 1848 - by Alexandre Dumas in which this thesis is expressed: If Marguerite and Armand's love had been encouraged, tediousness would not last to come out. Francisco Mugica, its director, gave smartness and a very good taste to the film, movement, excellent setting by Ricardo Conord and the beautiful landscapes photographed by Jose Maria Beltran. The film counts with the hilarious-ironical Florencio Parravicini's performance as Armand's father and Ernesto Raquen as his son, the youngster who falls in love with Marguerite. The principal character is played by Mecha Ortiz who gives to her role intensity and deepness. There is an admirable close-up at the end 0f the film. Unforgettable! The score belongs to Enrique Delfino. The film begins with the view of the end of "Camille", George Cuckor's film with Garbo as her heroine.
