As TV episodes go, "Where Have You Been, Charming Billy?" was pleasant enough, but it's hard to imagine a way in which ABC's Scoundrels lasts past the summer.
Still unaware of whether it's supposed to be more funny than serious, the execution is so haphazard that it takes away from cute characters and a quality premise.
The bad-guys-going-clean angle has been done before, making originality a must-have here, and it's been missing for the last four episodes. Out of four. Bad sign.
Last night, a funeral for a family friend morphs into a brief welcome home party for Wolf, who's out on work release and talks the authorities into letting him attend.
The patriarch acts as if he never left, and this ultimately allows Cheryl to realize that the family is better off with him in jail, which she pretty much knew already.
