"And This Is What He Told Her"
boblipton31 July 2023
Last year, Sidney Drew went to his college reunion and came home in the wee hours, completely snockered. This year, he insists on going again. To make him think of her and perhaps leave off the boozing while he can still walk, Mrs. Sidney Drew places one of her gloves in his pocket. She imagines he will find it there before the debauchery has gone too far, think of her, and come home to her.

He doesn't.

Sidney Drew was the uncle of the far more famous John, Ethel, and Lionel Barrymore. The second Mrs. Drew -- seen here --and he were enormously popular screen comedians, first for Vitagraph, and then for their own company releasing through Metro. They played in social comedies, often satirizing the middle class, and their movies were endlessly enlivened b the little bits of stage business Mr. Drew performed. I have yet to see a dull movie with them in it, and this one, like the others, is filled with very funny gags.
