Cris Morena is a huge fan of musicals and borrowed elements from Mary Poppins (1964), The Sound of Music (1965) and Annie (1982) for the series' concept.
The lead Belén Fraga, played by Romina Yan is replaced by three different characters in subsequent seasons: Ana (Grecia Colmenares), Luz (Romina Gaetani), and Mili (Agustina Cherri).
Each season of the show had musical presentations at the Grand Rex theatre in Buenos Aires, with star Romina Yan and the whole cast singing musical themes featured in the television series. The fourth season's musical presentation has the record of most tickets ever sold in that theatre.
Mexican actor Felipe Colombo was brought by Cris Morena from the Mexican version of the series, where he played Julio. Colombo became recognized in Argentina as the popular character Felipe, later being a protagonist in Rebelde Way (2002).
Was a TV hit in Israel (as well as Rebelde Way (2002), years later), with some of the cast members being part of a stage adaptation of this series for that country.
