Film: "Rangrezz"; Actors: Jackky Bhagnani, Amitosh Nagpal, Vijay Verma and Priya Anand; Director: Priyadarshan; Rating: *** - questions overrated emotion love.
Way back, Tina Turner sang "What's love got to do with it?"
Now in "Rangrezz", the question is spun into a spunky dizzying drama of brutal love and betrayal. When love comes to shove, all hell breaks loose.
It's been a while since Priyadarshan made us sit up and watch in rapt attention. Visually and in terms of the content, "Rangrezz" is his best work in years.

The Golden Horse Awards were held last night. They're often thought of as the Chinese Oscars because the tradition goes back the furthest and honors a wide pool of Chinese language films from multiple countries (China, Hong Kong, Singapore, Malaysia, Taiwan, etcetera). Though neither Monga, Taiwan's submission for Oscar's Foreign Language Film competition, nor Aftershock (China's submission), were nominated for Best Picture they both had multiple nominations .
Monga, a popular youth crime drama we've mentioned before, won Best Actor for 28 year old Ethan Ruan (left), who amusingly brought a cardboard cutout of his co-star who was not nominated. And yes he brought the cutout with him onstage when he won. He said...
Woo! Sorry, I brought my buddy along. [mimicing his co-star] 'Hi everyone. I'm Mark Chao'...to big laughs from the crowd.
Here's the Best Actor presentation. The clips begin at 2:25 after Li BingBing and Tony Leung Ka Fai (yes,...

It was a classic tale of famous boy meets famous girl — they fell in love only to have the music industry come between them. Fantasia said her two-year relationship with Young Dro dissolved because she couldn't focus on her career and be in a relationship simultaneously.
"I manly just focus on my career right now," the singer said. "When love comes to me, it has to be right this time. Everybody wants love — right now it's not my main focus. When I let it be my main focus, it interfered with everything else I had going on. I kinda stopped performing. I became kinda like a housewife. People were like, 'What are you doing? You married, you have kids?...
