A U.S. Navy man goes on shore leave in Hawaii and woos a pretty wahini in this Terryoon, which is apparently intended to increase enlistment of five year olds.
This 1934 cartoon is a nice change from he Terry studio's run of operettas based on well-known children's stories which dominated the studio's production that year. Philip Scheib's musical score is a mash-up of popular songs about Hawaii and the animation is, as it was throughout this period, competent without being inspired. Terry's still-uncredited staff does a nice job in dropping good gags in. However, while fans of Terrytoons and small children will be pleased, there's nothing outstanding here.
