Great Romanian movie
lucky_a4114 April 2008
It's a great love story that takes place during communism. If the teenagers today want to see real feelings, in a time when there were no internet or mobile phones, the should see this movie.'Oldies but goldies. It's real, very well-played,and it makes some of us remember high-school(for the ones who were in high-school during communism). There are no stupid lines, no rich spoiled teenagers facing ridiculous problems, it's reality. Every scene is very well-shot, and the dialogs are very realistic, not to mention the soundtrack (which reminds me of the more famous "Love story'). It's got everything you want for a nice movie full of realism and true love

Pure and innocent love, that's what this movie is about. I LOVE IT !!! The music is also lovely, and the math teacher (played by Tamara Buciuceanu) is so funny :D :D

love, social problems, teenagers life. a delicate flower in Comunist frozen. out of propaganda, image of an age and fragile feelings, with two very good actors - Teodora Mareș, Adrian Păduraru and Tamara Buciuceanu as top of iceberg - and an inspired script by George Șovu. in this time, it was a real event. today - sweet memory. about youth and Golden Age, about expectations for a ticket, about Romanian version for Romeo and Juliet, about music, feelings and high school events.it is a film by precise recipes and , at first sight, courageous , honest and special. maybe for science to say basic truth in dictatorship circle. or for art to be a open window in years of Ceaușescu cult. or just for universal message, forever young, fresh and seductive. love and its nuances. meetings and fragile words. expectations, small gifts and friendship. an isle. or only promise of never-die.

source of beautiful memories

one of strange films from the Comunist cinematography. because it preserves the delicacy, romanticism and the force of social problems in admirable manner. because itself phenomenon in his apparition on screen, was the beginning of a series who represents a window in the gray last decade of Ceaușescu regime. it is easy today to criticize it.but it remains almost an impeccable film. first, for the chemistry between lead actors. then - for music and reasonable script. not the last, as testimony about live style. sure, the clichés and the naivety of few scenes are not the good parts but , remembering the last part of "80 years, to propose few social far to be politically correct subjects, to suggest others ways to survive was a virtue. a version of Love Story, off course. precise references to Romeo and Juliet. but, more important, a film about the flavor of high school period. and a touching story about delicate force of love.

A low quality communist rip off Romeo and Juliet
ersbel3 March 2015
This is a low quality communist rip off Romeo and Juliet. With a happy end for the entertainment of the masses. The story is not very good. The acting is poor. But you can have some sick fun. Because every actor has multiple roles. The boy's mother. She can give him hell for deciding not to go to the Faculty of Medicine. Than she is over preoccupied with the boy's potential sex life. So no girl before the exams. So later on she not only lets her son with another girl, but she brings cake in the half-lit room. Her son tells her he is going to take the med school exam. Yet, in an very corrupted country, she blames the father for her son's missed exam instead of fighting the school's decision.

In between the silly scenes with characters that change character you get the perspectives in the Christian orthodox communism. A good girl has to tend for the children, do the chores at home all alone, and, if possible, do some schooling, but that is not her main priority.
