A decent Ham and Hattie short
llltdesq17 April 2014
Warning: Spoilers
This was one of a handful of shorts in the Ham and Hattie series done by the UPA studio. There will be mild spoilers ahead:

The Ham and Hattie shorts were actually two shorter cartoons paired together and set to music.

Sailing is the Hattie short. Hattie plays with a toy sailboat in a fountain while a song about sailing plays over the cartoon. The sailboat gets sunk but a policeman saves the day for Hattie.

Village Band is about a band in a small village. They aren't appreciated by their fellow citizens until they suddenly realize that a village band is needed to play for the arrival of a visiting dignitary. The musicians save the day and are then celebrated by the people who basically ignored them before.

This short can be found on a three disc box set of Jolly Frolics shorts. The set is excellent and this short is well worth watching. Recommended.
