Easter Eggs for Breakfast
Gandy Goose is building a "post-war chicken" in his workshop. After Sour Puss and he fall asleep, they dream it lays Easter Eggs. When Gandy, Sour Puss and the chicken crawl into an Easter Egg and a weird series of incidents in this superior Terrytoon.
It winds up looking like a version of Bob Clampett's classic PORKY IN WACKYLAND, but the controlling logic -- if that's the word I want, which it isn't -- is much more dreamlike than Clampett's cartoon. This sort of absurd plot turned up more than once in the Goose and Sour Puss cartoons, which is why it is my favorite series from Terry's studio and this is one of the good ones.
It does sag a bit in the middle and the "It's only a dream" beginning and ending is one of the frequent weaknesses in the series. However, while the cartoon runs through its paces, you will enjoy it.
