My dinner with Andre meets Slacker. Three pairs of human guinea pigs get paid to smoke government-issue weed, drink a beverage which may or may not contain alcohol, and have their behavior observed by a research assistant. What we really see, however, is what goes on inside the heads of these people as they share stories and thoughts that are by turns thought-provoking and laugh-inducing. I saw this in Austin, Texas at South by Southwest. Audience members, many of them stoned, were literally falling out of their seats with laughter. I was not high but laughed pretty hard myself anyway. Definitely less about the drugs than about the thoughts expressed.
