It starts off with the work of Konstantin Tsiolkovsky, space travel visionary and father of aeronautics, followed by early soviet industrialization, fatal fight of Osoaviakhim balloon in 1934 to a record altitude, record-breaking flights of Chkalov and Gromov over the north pole to USA aboard ANT-25s in 1937, the world's first successful jet airliner Tu-104, early soviet post WWII rocket launches, the world's satellite Sputnik 1, radio and tracking stations around the world following the satellite, demonstration of various scientific instruments aboard Sputnik 2 - the second soviet satellite with dog Laika aboard.
